well, ordered all the parts yesterday, now its just the long wait for some of the parts. im setting mine up with 12ax7's. ill load a video after im done
@jjmusicmanjay Just a warning that the ax7's may be a bit scratchy and/or farty. This was really designed for the au7's, and you'll most likely get the best tone out of them.
@jrmcgrath13 thats what i was told to, but there is a guy on here that built one with the au7 diagram, but used a ax7, and it sounded great. you dont really have the option for 9v though, have to use 12
is there any way that you could email me more of a detailed parts list on the caps/resistors and such(not sure on the voltage for all the parts), im new to this, and i really want to build this pedal. musicman1182@hotmail.com ....thanks
@jjmusicmanjay I'd recommend going to the diystompboxes board that I got the design from; the link is in the video description. That'll give you all the info you'll need for the build. Also, the layout I have up there has all of the values for the components you'll need. You're only going to be running this at 12V if you're just doing the standard build, so just make sure the components are all rated for at least that and you'll be good.
Hi again JR. I have came across the same problem with mine on the 12v. It makes weird noise with the 12v but is fine with the 9v. Which is odd because of the 12v regulator used in the circuit. Oh well it works great although thanks again
Just finished my build. I cut it down o just two tubes and sounds great. Just have a few things to tide up and to house it properly. Will make a vid response sometime! cheers for you're help !!!!!
I wasn't able to get the 12V working... It kept making a really annoying buzz and I couldn't figure out what was wrong. From what I've heard from the guys on the forum, there isn't that much of a difference in sound between 9 and 12V anyway. There have been people, however, who have used voltage multipliers to send 12V to the appropriate leads, but send upwards of 90V to the parts that can handle that, and they've said it sounds splendid like that.
@jrmcgrath13 Hay again JR. Im just getting parts according to the schematic you provided and just have a few questions. Have you included a Low cut/hi pass switch coming from each tube with the two capacitors C1a and C1b? Also just wondering about the female balanced in and the TS unbalanced out?
@MrReddddddd The switch for C1a and C1b is just a SPDT so you can choose between the two cap values to get a bassier tone if you want. For the in and out, that's pretty much how most pedals are... I'm not sure why, but I've built a lot of pedals and it's always a TRS in and a TS out.
Hay man wicked pedal. I am going to attempt to make this for a project for my audio degree. I got the schematics off your link, did you use 12au7 valves?

what size pedal case is that, and where do you find it?

@jjmusicmanjay I'm pretty sure I bought the 1790NS from pedal parts plus dot com

@MrReddddddd Anytime... glad it worked out! I'd love to hear it if you get a chance. =]

Hey I want that pedal.. Where I can get one?
SalasFrank86 5 months ago
@SalasFrank86 You build it, my friend... you build it. Or, you commission someone else to build it, but that'd cost you a pretty penny.

Wow! That was cool thanks for the demo.

Ok awsome thanks, did you try the at7 with the 12V power supply at all? Cheers
MrReddddddd 6 months ago
Yeah, all three are 12au7's. I tried an at7 in there, but it didn't sound very good.
