  • How far are you away from the tv when playing. I was told that you have to be at least 5 feet away when using a 42"hdtv as a computer monitor. I'm buying a 42" in about 2 weeks for my computer monitor for my room so I have to plan where I can put it.

  • you could have got more likes, if there werent a mohammed sitting at that computer.

  • is your plasma tv have a vga input??

  • 65 led kai ande geia

  • LMFAO @ 1:03 !!!

  • @lukacho999 do you got a HDMI connecion on your tv?

  • this is zoo unergonomic, but very cool.

  • I love how you have a 1000 dollar monitor, but a shitty, uncomfortable little table and chair....

  • and how does it effect on your graphic card?

i have a 42" tv too,i want to connect it with my pc,but im scared that im gonna burn the graphic card,or maybe the processor...:S

have graphic card 8600GT and processor Amd Athlon x2 core 2.2Ghz?

  • @davidgaming95 so one can not plug the pc to the tv using an hdmi cable? why you are scare for? those that damage the pc? or the tv? From what I hear is pretty common to use your TV as a monitor, just plug hdmi and play! why not? let me know because I have a new 3d tv that I was thinking to use it for SKYRIM

  • @ps3alexpr haha,nevermind,tried it already works perfectly...xD

  • i like pie.

  • @Thnqu i like turtles.

  • @tallyhoman911

good for you kind sir ! the force is strong in you young padawan

  • Graphic card specs?

  • I love my 24'' 16:10.

Higher Resolution (1920x1200) and I don't have to be that far away from it like you :D

    It looks quite funny :D

  • you look mental

  • hi, how did you connect it, please tell me. do i need to have something else other than Tv and PC. graphic card and TV model no please.

  • @vijoyem1 you need HDMI kable :)

  • the camera guy is defiinately high

  • 1:10 WTFFFFFFFFFFFF !!!!!!!

  • oh how I badly need to get an hdtv for my pc screen

  • I have my pc hooked up to my 96" projector. World's 2nd largest monitor. :)

  • you need a sofa!!!!

  • I really want to plug my Gaming PC into my Samsung PS42A456P..... But im terrified about burn in :( It is a new TV, with burn in protection built in, but even so, I don't want to risk it :P

  • should of got a lcd

  • No way, plasma gives much better picture quality, I.E, contrasting colours and Black levels.

  • @kaosobsidian lcd is better quility than plasmas . think buddie why there cheaper than lcd's . Theres to much problems to list. one main problem is ghost burns.

  • No... A new Plasma is a fair bit more expensive than a new LCD (of the same model. e.g. Series 4 Samsung plasma vs Series 4 Samsung LCD). And modern plasma screens dont suffer from long term burn-in AT ALL( provided they are not abused of course), sure if a single image is left on the screen for an extended period of time it will be visible after the image is changed, however it washes out with in 10 minutes. I know, I have one!

  • @kaosobsidian well the NEW plasmas are better then before BUT they are not cheaper than lcds.they do HAVE shorter lifespan than lcds and are heaver wieght and more.only good thing is that they have richer colors in black and thats about it . but lcd leds took care of that . google whats better lcd or plasma . i always investigate in whats better in stuff i buy .

  • LCD LED's? Mate, LCD and LED are completely different TV's, I have no problem saying that LED > Plasma and LCD hands down, but LCD and Plasma are very similar, I believe Plasma has the edge over LCD because of the colour richness and black levels that you have also admitted to. Also... you said Plasmas were cheaper than LCD's... I said they werent and your last comment agreed? Lol, typo or change of mind? Fair enough, lifespan is less, but it is 10years easy. Ill have bought new LED by then.

  • @kaosobsidian LED isn't really > LCD and plasma

the colors have a "clinic" effect due to the white backlighting.

    It's much more expensive

Also plasma burn in is not even a con anymore since it like never happens anymore with new technology.

The only reason to buy a LED is to be cool and to keep up with newer technology (In other words utter bullshit)

So LED isn't really worth it IMHO, I prefer waiting for OLED's.

  • fucking terrorists

  • i thought that if you play games on a plasma tv it will ruin your tv...can someone explain?

  • some plasmas have game mode in it which lowers the color to a normal tv

  • so how do you know if you have a plasma with game mode? I have a 50 inch plasma samsung tv and i havent tried to play games on it i have heard so many bad things about doing that...so can you tell me how to know if my tv has a game mode?

  • there should be a menu button on ur tv press it and there shold be a movie mode and game mode look for it

  • ok so by doing this then it should be safe to play then with no burn in?

  • putting it in game mode will not break your tv so it is safe cause my tv is 100% working in game mode when playing games

  • When did you buy that plasma? was it recently? because if it was recently you might have one of the latest Samsung plasmas that just came out and they won't have burn-in problems unless you leave a static image for probably like 6 hours or so...

  • hi moonovice...well i bought my plasma on may this year...i am just a little scared to try playing games on it! It does have a game mode on it and also has burn in protection! I just want to know if anybody who has bought a plasma this year..has anybody had problems playing games on it!

  • Then that should be one of the very recent Samsung 600hz models. I'm pretty sure you'll be safe but I can't talk for personal experience since I don't own one, but I'm sure you'll be fine specially if you enable game mode.

  • cool thanks for the advice moonovice...much appreciated!

  • Forgot to mention though, just in case try not to play for say...more than 3 hours, at least not for now.

  • ok yeah i really dont play games for more than 2 hours anyway..thanks for the heads up!

  • Not anymore...but this video was filmed in 2006 so I would like to know if these guys have any burn-in on that TV since that should be an early plasma model.

  • but, how?

  • you have to buy those glasses that are a screen w/ 3d to get the true gaming experince

  • That's just a gimmick and it's not everybody, I could never see myself playing with goggles on.

  • u are too close.u have to be at least 3 or 4 meters away.lol

  • his parents wont allow him to sit closer lol

  • ur sat so far away!! to get the full effect you have to sit close enough that the screen is the only thing u can see. Then you will have the true gaming experience

  • Didnt know they even have electricity in Pakistan/Ass of the World xD xD

  • oh thats nasty

  • u could haved played another game, that one looks gay.

  • look when the video is uploaded.. in 2006. Those TV where expensive in that time. Really nice thought :D

  • this video is lame as f**k

  • big ass room makes tv look like 19 in lol is that 1080p\720p? are all the lines nice and smooth.

  • I pluged my pc to the tv and it worked really well but non om my games will open, im ussing s video. If you encounter the a similar problem, can you please help me! i tried 2 computers already and i had the same problem.

  • thats wierd should have worked... are your games set to the correct resolution to tv... and does your tv have interlace and progressive scan modes?

  • The posture looks painful, my back would die if I sat there all day.

  • whenever i hook up my 26" to my comp it gives me a headache is this normal lol?

  • yeah basicly as long as you get a good tv with a good refresh rate its pretty much identical to a computer monitor... a really good way to kill 2 birds with one stone as well :P

  • you response time not refresh rate.

  • Is the quality just a little lower than a monitor?

  • I have done the same, just on a wide screen.

Actualy, using HDMI, or DVI to HDMI the quality is just as good as a monitor.

  • how does it look when your just web surfing or just not playing any games. Is it hard to read the text?

  • Not really. It magnifies the text quite well.

  • bullshit. on larger screens plasma is superior. better dark tones, 0.001 ms response time and excellent general picture quality. btw if your plasma is susseptible to burns you bought a bad one. out of 7 million sold panasonic plasma screens 2 came back with burns :p

  • you got riped off that is not a 42 inch. could be 42 inch corner to corner of the outside of it . but not the screen.

  • thats right, at home, we got a 41 inch phillips ambilight which is a lot bigger.

  • thats pretty neat, just be careful, its not hard to screw ur new investment like that, just make sure when your not using ur PC either turn your plasma off, or make sure you set a moving screensaver to come on after 5-10mins of non-use.

  • Yea... I made sure that we didn't get screen burn.

  • true dat, especially for PC monitors! lol

  • what are you playing by the way? and at what resolution?

  • plasma or lcd they all same in dark....

i know it beacuse i already test it...

  • 42" ?? it looks smaller

  • it stands "pc in" above the VGA port :S but it doesnt work :S

  • it doesn't work to play my pc games on my 42" plasma, i got an HDMI - DVI cable, and i link it together, it doesnt work! someone who can help?, i got vista :S

  • just use abga easier

  • just use a vga cable its alot better only like 20$

  • are u guys arabic it looks like it nothing wrong with it just wondering

  • 42' of glory...?

  • lol "bigges tv!" lmao

i have 50 inch plasma at my home owns that piece of crap :p

    lol just messing nvm :p

  • lol cameraman is really ugly xD

  • You betther make at that wall a Home theatre its better for your neck and better to play games :)

  • wat the hell are u all talking about a burn in screen??? never heard of it

  • TV's that don't use LCT/TFT technology can burn a still picture onto the screen. It means that you'll see the burn-in image on top of what is being processed onto the screen at the time. This can be temporary which it is most of the time, but can also be permanent. LCD doesn't work in the same way which is why that is better for hooking up to a computer.

  • with older models this is completely true. however, the manufacturers of the new models have near-eradicated said problems.

my plasma is still pristine, even after heavy pc use, thanks very much :)

  • I don't doubt the fact that the technology has evolved, but that still doesn't defeat the fact that Plasma panels are still made in the same way and they're way more prone to get burn-in images than LCD's are. They're not bad screens by any standard, it's just LCD is preferable for computer use.

  • What do you think about getting a real nice laptop and then just using a tv to get a large moniter, but still be able to go on the road. What you have seems like you accually use that as a monter and wouldn't be a good tv spot.

  • How is your neck? The position you seem to have the screen in reletive to your seating position looks like an ergonomic nightmare. You might ot have problems now, but you will have unless you get the screen at least near horizontal with your eyeline. I'd be interested to know how you get on.

  • lol... actually after a while, it did hurt a bit.

for the most part I was okay.

  • hi, how long have you had your tv? and have you experienced any problem like a burn in screen?

  • It's not my tv, but yea, he took precautions to make sure there was no burn in screen. We would turn it off often to make sure there was not burn in screen.

  • lol im gonna get 50" hdtv and hook it up on my EVGA 8800 gtx, its gonna be awesome

  • shit thats sweet

  • how can i switch to plama from pc? I already boght 6ft audio video cable and card. I installed the card on my pc and connected cable and i don't know how view on plasma. Can u help me?

  • sorry, I didn't set it up, my friend did.

  • man thats easy s to tv

  • badass.

  • whatnis the stabilizer you mentioned thats in the floor ?

  • in pakistan the type of current used is DC, whereas the computer only accepts AC current, so the stabilizer is there to prevent the computer from frying

  • i know when ppl see what you got thay am thinking jack pot

  • nice tv.but your sey up and how evverthing is sloppy.first you shold buy a computer desk and that should do it... second why ru siting so far away?
