Embraer and Bombardier responded withing 24 hours and Delta sent the tech evaluation teams to both. Sukhoi is not responding for 4 weeks already. Not a word. I guess they are not too eager to sell them..

First of all Boeing got a lot of government help too, and the whole idea that something "government financed" can't be as good is nonsense. Renualt is owned by the French government and the won 11 titles in Formula 1 in the 90's. Then they won 4 titles in 2005 and 2006, and now they are dominating with Red Bull. They pioneered pneumatic valvegear in 1986 and turbo engines in F1 (later banned).

This cut costs dramatically and allowed engineers to immediately fix things they weren't able to see before. This is why the 777 hold the record as of being one of the safest Civil jets out there. They haven't lost one to any fatal collisions and most of the accidents that happened to it all passengers walked out safely.

Everyone likes the plane and has high hopes, I don't really understand why you gotta knock the only U.S. manufacturer you can think of when this competes with nothing in Boeing's lineup.

@andreyRUS17 except for the boeing 737. But the 737 holds quite a good amount more pax. The 737 has wayy better range, and is slightly faster. This plane competes with embraer and bombardier. Just do a simple google search and stop trying to start rivalry wars, when boeing isn't the competitor... at all. And without boeing, who knows where this project would be today.
