  • microamps, wow. what is SLAB?

    My plant batteries all make more than that. In fact they usually make about 3 milliamps, but this is at 1.4v from the magnesium to copper with the plant. (They do not perform well without the plant in the center.)

    Very nice.

    I am encouraged by the lack of "perfection" also.

    Sealed Lead Acid Battery - JB recommends, best for receiving the spike. this one is running @ 12 volts, My son's smaller build runs off the plant battery. check vid window motor running on plant battery :-)

  • That's pretty cool. If you had some good bearings and balanced the rotor, I'll bet you'd cut that current in half. About how many turns on the coil?

    At least half eh (the bearings are real bad) - If we only had the means :-)

    I can't remember exactly, the middle coil has about 1600 turns and it comes in at 60 ohms no idea on the turns on the bottom coil (lost count), but it comes in at 23 ohms.
