omg. I was only 8 when I watched this. how the years have gone by. the music back in the nineties were the best ever. rock was at it's best. none of this bullsht now.
@sidewaysid I was there too, I recently looked back at the line up and realsied that I missed Joe Strummer, Ian Dury, Wilco, Al Green, and Pavement... if only I knew then what I know now!! Still, I'm glad I missed a little band called, Coldplay, who were on the New Bands Stage that year!
They performed this in Cologne two years later...much better than here. What I don't get is how bands can stand to play the same songs OVER and OVER and OVER again. Doesn't it drive them crazy? Like reading the same short story OVER and OVER and OVER again. Don't fans ever get tired of hearing the SAME THING over and over and over again? Well, no I guess not. But I've had enough of classic rock stations to make me puke. Just my opinion
Actually I have not heard this song all that much. Far less I am sure, than REM has rehearsed and performed it. I don't have the album or single (if there was one). I rarely listen to music on the radio (too many oldies stations!).
So you made a value judgment based on a lack of information. So who's the idiot?
@LTF6161 LTF, I agree. I have no doubt that they're tired of having to play this song. All big groups must get tired of playing their "hits' but they have to pretend like they don't.That's not to say that REM hates playing all these songs. I think they really enjoy playing some songs and not so much others. Which must be true for every famous band. What sucks for me is that REM became so huge. I first saw them at a tiny club in 1984 and they were so fucking brilliant! Cheers
R.I.P. R.E.M. 1980-2011. There will never be another - not even if they try.
