I'll never believe obama until he starts to speak candidly about the objectives and political practices of his "opponents". He needs to call these guys out, draw some battle lines, identify those entities whose interests conflict with the potential to improve circumstances for the common americans who elected him. I agree with Howard Dean. With no public option, and no medicare buy-in, this health reform bill isn't worth passing. Single payer is the way to go. But with no public option, no medicare buy-in, what's the point? I'm going to be forced to buy coverage from a private company who pays their CEO millions of dollars? I will not vote for Obama again if is this bill is the best he can get done.

LSpear76RCN: I am like you and I would have been happier going for the whole loaf rather than just some, BUT Obama is a realist and he preferes to be cautious and get what he can. So as far as I am aware Obama's plan is to start with half the loaf and go for the rest later. Therefore you start with some real Reform, which will help out a lot of people possibly the majority of Americans and then work on the rest when it is clear there are still problems.

This health insurance bill is a complete boondoggle. what it insurers is that Democrats who vote on it will get tons of cash and Republicans who vote against it will get less. For the rest of us? Only the gov will only make a 4% profit instead of the 200% profit the industry is ripping us off for. This will force the industry to lower their prices. This is the same way the interest on loans work or would you rather be paying 25%+ on your car and home loans?
