  • Is that Iva getting married at 3:37? If so, who is she marrying?

  • Whos is the character at 3:02; what was her major storyline on the show? Thanks in advance.

  • WOW 9/17/10 my 2nd childhood babysitter goes away. I was raised by ATWT,GL & AW. SFT & AMC ate lunch with me and EON & DarkShadows did homework with me after school. And I always had my Thanksgiving w/Quartermaines #GH and Christmas with Hortons on DooL. Pathetic I know but IT was a great childhood with these shows my other Families. I miss them.

Thank U ATWT. Thanks for the memories and Doug Marland you were a Genius.

  • Martha Byrne, Thank you for a putting the link of this vid in a Tweet! I love it!

  • What a fun video! I didn't recognize everyone, but enjoyed it still.

  • What a great tribute to this show. One of my first TV memories is of Nancy singing "Oh What a Beautiful Morning" at the beginning of the show in the early '60 (I'm 50) and I've been watching it off and on since. So sad that we're losing another one of the great ones (RIP-Guiding Light.)

  • Wonderful job. Nearly died at 1:08 which is about where I started watching with crazy Joyce Hughes. Look at Fulton here: always reminded me of a Marilyn Monroe - so beautiful. This show maintained EXTREMELY well for about 43 years are up until about 4:09 when CARLY took over this show with Jack. So f-----g boring and the rest of the show went to hell also. I haven't watched faithfully since, and I STILL miss the powerhouse it once was.

  • oh my gosh did meg rayan use to act in this tv show wow BEFORE SHE WAS FAMOUS CANT BELIVE IT

  • @justme8777 Yeah this is the first place I ever saw her and I tell you I hated her on the show. I was so used to the actress who played Betsy Stewart from childhood up and then Meg came in to take the role and played her totally different, very off the wall qwirky. Then I discovered that is how Meg Really is lol. I grew to love her in the movies though.

  • Love the pictures! This reminds of characters and storylines I had forgotten. Love the big band music too. Thanks!

  • This was WONDERFUL! Fifty years in little over seven minute!

  • who are the kids at 0:58?

  • That is a photo of the Paul, Betsy & Emily Stewart from the 70s.

  • @Dragonweaver Actually that is John Reilly in that picture who played Dan Stewart the brother of Paul. If memory serves right Betsy, played by Suzanne Davidson, here was his daughter with Liz who was Paul's wife. Emily was Dan's daughter with Susan. I remember Suzanne Davidson. I think she played Betsy the longest from 1972 to 1980 & the most known until Meg Ryan took over the role.

  • Who is the guy on the right at 4.57 ?? it ain't Chris right?? who..?

I like the pictures of Jack and Carley! they are so nice together.

    X

  • Awesome Video!

Two things I'd like to know more about...

3:09 that's Andy right? Can anyone tell me the background of this character (from what I've heard he was a character that was used a lot in storylines) and....

4:00 that's Lilly and not Rose, right? What is Lilly doing with a gun at her wedding?!!

    Thanks in advance.

  • Wow were did you get all the pics from?

  • I think Maura (Carly) looks a lot like Eileen (Lisa) if you look at her old pictures

  • i thought it was great - thank you!!!!

  • this was such a let down. The 40th was much bettwe

  • u 4 got about andys baby mama denise????.

  • I guess I did. It was not intentional. Just so many photos and stories and so little time to cover everything. If I ever make another video like this I will try to include her.

  • thank you,very nice work!!

  • I'll see you in hell, James Stenbeck!!!

    And you in heaven...sweet Betsy!

  • I like what you did. But maybe you could slow it down, I though the pictures were moving a little bit too fast. Or change the song into a bit slower one. :) Other wise, nicely done :)

  • Very nicely done!

  • I remember watching this when my mon suddenly went into labor and while she was giving birth in the other room , one of the Police man watch the soap with my sister and I. Wow that was back in at the 60s Yep My brother Richard was born while I watch the soap :)

  • I saw this show in my teens, when Ellen and Penny did nothing but moan and groan. It was sickening. And then in came Lisa--the only draw for me. Jeff was sweet--who'da thunk he'd become a big-shot director (Mark Rydell.)Barely watched it in later years. Only Days, Doctors and Secret Storm. Now just one vice--Days. Now wasn't Meg Ryan the cutest thing?

  • Does anyone know if Lily and Paul Ryan ever had a relationship in ATWT? I thought i saw them 'getting' married in this clip.

  • No Lily & Paul never had a romantic relationship. Paul dated and almost married Lily's twin, Rose D'Angelo. Paul dumped Rose at the altar shortly before she died, which kicked off a whodunit murder mystery.

  • wow kudos on a job well done

  • I watched ATWT for a few years in the early to mid 80s before switching to AW. Great show.

I think its great the original core Family the Hughes is still a mainstay of the show 50 years later.

  • Yeah that was Meg but Louis Prima's sing sing sing was awesome

  • Helen Wagner was a HOTTIE

  • Does anyone remember rapper Lauryn Hill, from the group "The Fugees," on ATWT?

  • Lauryn Hill played Kyra. She was a runaway at the shelter that Duncan McKechnie ran. She falsely accused him of molestation, but confessed she had lied eventually. She was on for maybe a year, then gone. And the rest is music history!

  • And that when ATWT premiered it was the first of two soaps, The Edge of Night being the other, that ran for 30 minutes rather than the usual 15 minutes.

EDGE was an instant hit but it took ATWT a while longer to hit it's stride.

  • Oh my what a wonderful job you did with this video. It brought back so many memories. It was like reliving my own life. I still watch and this video made me remember characters that I had forgotten. I would love to see the episodes with Tom and Margo and the midget that kidnapped them.

  • I've been watching ATWT for 24 years and this video REALLY brings back the memories! Thank you for all the hard work you put into this video!

  • Anybody here know that "As The World Turns" premeiered on April 2, 1956 and was created by Irma Phillips?

  • was that meg ryan?

  • Yes, Meg Ryan was on ATWT!

  • WOW! thats really really cool! Where did you find those pics?

  • This is very impressive & must have taken a LOT of work. Great work finding all these pictures!

  • Loved it! I've been watching AS The World Turns for about 6 years now! What would be really cool though is if you could put the names of the characters underneath the pictures!

  • Thanks so much! I'm a long term fan,and really enjoyed that walk down memory lane :o)

  • nicce. tht's history..

  • Good stuff. I watched ATWT during the summer months in the 80's and early 90's when I wasn't in school, but I haven't watched in 15 years or so. Craig and Sierra, Steve and Betsy, Bob and Kim, Barbara and James, Holden and Lilly, Margo and Tom, Duncan Mckecknie/Jessica/Shannon, The Snyders, Lucinda, Emily, Rod, Paul, Andy, lots of memories there! Thanks!

  • that was so cool

  • Great memories but not enough Eileen Fulton who made the show #1 all those years.

  • I actually agree, and there were tons of other photos I had to leave out as well. Just not enough time to fit in everything.

  • Loved the Walk down Memory Lane with As The World Turns

  • I loved it! I started watching the show in 1974 while in graduate school! The time really flies.

  • That was terrrific!!!!!!!!!!

  • This was fabulous! And the accompanying music was perfect too. Amaxing how well you were able to capture fifty years a little over seven minutes!

  • I have to agree with absolute--and my goodness the time it took you--how many photo's are in this anyway lol

    Great job

    patc

  • Thanks everybody for all your comments. And honestly I stopped counting pictures when I hit 100. I originally had more but the thing was so long I had to cut it.

  • Great vid! Much, MUCH better than what we actually got on the show for the 50th, jmo :)

  • Whats a jmo

  • You did an awesome job on this!

  • Excellent! Just wish I could slow it all down and watch it again!

  • Terrific. Made me flash back to my Grandmother, an ATWT devotee, in the early 70s, saying, "They show that Kim so much, and she's so...sweet. We need some Lisa today."

  • that was fantastic.
