The real point is that The Smith family devised and created a scheme that became so successful beyond their wildest dreams.. Smith took ideas from family members and the other heavier sources, KJVB etc.. do you think his Grand fathers ideas were not used? Why don't mormons research properly? If you were paying $200,000 for your childs education at BYU.. wouldn't you want them to be able to undertake research correctly? There's not one journalist among them...

Ok ... anyone can write the Book of Mormon ... you just have to have 3 years of any schooling as Joseph had ... you cant have ANY college degree ... you have to write it with what you know, without ANY research before hand ... it needs to be made up of 239 chapters: 54 about wars, 55 about prophecy, 71 about doctirne, 17 about missionaries and 21 about the mission of Jesus Christ ... 522 pages with over 510 words per page ... and you have to do it all in less that 80 days!!! I have an origional copy that I recieved from the reorganized LDS. Nothing has changed but printers errors such as punctuation and placing the same word twice in a row etc. The book is without a doubt is a work brought to us by our Lord.

I can't believe that anyone can take the BOM seriously. I had a trio of Mormon lady missionaries give me one once. I tried to read it, it was so obviously fake & it was absurd. Why do Mormons take this book seriously, seriously, can someone answer that question?

So then, based on your experience (you were married to a Mormon but I would guess you mean you weren't yourself), the Mormons you knew actually didn't believe in large chunks of this stuff? The Mormon story is merely a kind of mythic order that lend a structure to the social practice? How much hidden disbelief is hiding in Mormon pews?

at the end every gathering of people gives us the feeling of belonging to a club. yes i married one and me being of christian belief my bad very bad. 4 the most they r very cool people they strive to live the life of christian walk. they believe everything their leaders dish out, their prophet is a most important person to listen whenever he speaks. i never heard any of them argue a doctrine or believe of the church, they stick to wat they r told. saddd

As I listen to this video I have to wonder about that. This man claims to be only 1% Mormon. I am inclined to think that most people are somewhere on that scale but few are 100%ers. People talk about "cafeteria Catholics," that is Catholics who pick & choose the dogmas the wish to believe in. I am convinced a similar phenomenon exists in Mormonism. There does seem to be a conservative/liberal divide in Mormonism.

I perceive that Mormonism is up against a brick wall in terms of recruiting.

his 1% probably means that there are things he likes or misses about the church. if 1 could be 100% then i guess 1 would find him/her self flying to heaven or raptured to be amongs the perfect ones, any ways. do not misjudge or miscalculate the power the presentation the lds missionaries have on their gospel. its appealing ´cause  you eventually want to be in heaven with all your family and they are the only ones who can promise you that once you believe.

The top down authority was very obvious in the New Testament. Saying that Christ's church did not have a Top down authority is a flat-out lie.

Christ was the head, his apostles were right under him. The apostles ordained bishops of the congregations who reported to the apostles, who reported to Christ.

Eph 2:20 The foundatin of the church was built upon this principle of authoritative men beneath christ.

The bible in and of itself is no authority as it can be interpreted incorrectly.

Yes, but see he never used the "plates" to transcribe. He used a seer stone in a hat which is of the occult. This is why LDS claim it is the most correct book on the planet; because of the paranormal activity of the perfect words appearing to him in thin air.

My issue wasn't specifically with plates, but with the question of why someone would translate a book into a language that neither the "source" used, nor the "translator" used?

Wanna know what words were changed? I know a guy who had an original copy of the book of mormon and his that he got a little while ago. He goes through and reads it word for word, just words like thou to thy, things like that. Bad argument, get a new one.

My twelve year old Grandaughter is highly creative and such a good writer that her teacher wanted her to send in her article on Abortion to Obama.

But the main point more then anything is that Joseph Smith has way too many false prophesies to be a true prophet of God.

I was once a Mormon and when I did my research, I found many things where the LDS Teachings go against the Bible.

They do say that the Bible is translated so many times that it's lost it's original intent...Now, here's the truth....The King James English was directly translated from the Hebrew and Greek. The King James English has NOT been translated so many times that it can't be understood.

Now, here's another fact....When one reads the Bible in it's context, then those who are Believers in Jesus Christ..

God's Word is not hard to understand or interperet when one is in Christ Jesus, and all any Beleiver has to do is study God's Word in it's entirety and the understanding comes easy.

I rather said that the way that YOU translate the words that are on the page is what is incorrect. The words on the pages can be translated in so many different ways because we as human beings are not perfect and do not have a perfect understanding.

The biggest problem there is when it comes to God's Word is that most don't read all the chapter or even the letter or book that is written. The other problem is that most rely on others to get an understanding of it...with the combination of the two, of course there will be many different opinions. but when one has entrusted their faith in Jesus...
