You should take a new companion. There's a badass looking girl with heavy armor in Riften. Her name is Mjoll The Lioness. You must do her quest first and then after that you can take her as your new companion. A good thing about her is she cannot die no matter how many damages she takes, and she got good defense if you give him shield even good enough to take down a dragon.

someone at Skyrim's UESP forum said that you must at least level 15 to make her give the quest. when you hit level 15, talk to her again and she will give you the quest. I hope that helps. :-)

Well, she's usually roaming the street with his partner Aerin. Sometimes she's also spending her time in Riften tavern "The Bee and Barb". Her stats are: 100 in heavy armor, 100 in two handed weapon, 78 in block, 73 in archery, 49 in one handed. That's why she's become the best companion in Skyrim because she got maximum skills in heavy armor and two handed weapon and also awesome stats in archery. maximum offense and defense.

@ArcZeld don't mean to be rude, but none of those stats are true.. companion levels match the player's level so when you hit level 50, then those will be her stats. She's just as good as any housecarl though, except they get 100 one handed instead of two handed. best companion is pretty much down to personal prefernce

Yeah you're right, a follower's level can continue to increase along with the player's level, whether they travel with you or not. However, each follower has a maximum level (which varies for each follower. ex: Sven from Riverwood max level is 20, Aela the Huntress can reach level 50). Also, each follower has a specific set of favored skills, which are dictated by their class. And the stats are true, you can check uesp[dot]com if you don't believe me.

J'zargo from College of Winterhold. To make him your companion, you must join the mages guild and finish some of the mages guild's main quest. Eventually, J'zargo will give you quest and after you finish J'zargo's quest then he will be avaible as a companion. Fact about J'zargo: He's one of only two Khajiit followers available in the game. Also he's the only follower that will level up all the way to 81 with you thus making him the strongest companion in game.

well, you can force the quest to start. To do so, just open your console by pressing ~ and then type this: setstage FreeformRiften09 10

two mistakes or tipps about the things u did in just the first minute^^: u could fast-travel even closer to the jarl and u can "take a nap" right on the ground. just "wait", i dont know the pc- key for it but u can look it up, it speeds up the ingame time. thumbs up so steve can see
