  • why do you show a wonderfull keyboard like OASYS with total low sound quality can t you record it better ???????

  • Can you use it as MIDI controller and use it as a plugin

  • @TonyosBaby

    ///absolutely.!!

  • @TonyosBaby

Midi Controller...yes. I am not sure about it being used as a plugin at this time. The first time I noticed a mention of that ability was in the M3 and Kronos.

  • Bought an OASYS 88 a few weeks ago, sounds and works like a dream.

  • first of all n so on Ivanwide.ucoz.ua

  • does the piano of the oasys comes in the m3??? planing to get the m3.

  • I own Korg, Poly 800, M1, O1W, Triton

    Roland Juno 6, D20, XV5080

    Yamaha, DX7, Motiff 6

IMO Roland has the best acoustic sounds. Yamaha the synth/electronic. Korg, while not as strong in either catagoy as the others, has a nice blend of each. The OASYS was ridiculously overpriced. $8k? For that $ you could buy "flagship" boards/mods from each major keyboard manufacturer & end up with more sound variety than own only the OASYS.

  • If anyone hear can play guitar and is between the ages 13-15 and lives in or around HENRY COUNTY, GEORGIA!!! PLEASE CONTACT ME!!

  • wow the sounds of this just blew me away :D

  • on youtube you can not see the quality. But in reality this is the best keyboard

  • A lot of people talking junk about the O. Their is only one weakness in my opinion and that's the drum sounds and that can be fixed in an EXs. Anyway I own one it's wonderful. I've been playing for about 14 years. Including a national title in music composition playing the piano. The piano sounds are wonderful. I even like the sequencer, which is considered the weakness by most. If you don't own one you really have no reason to complain. Except for that you can't afford or don't own one.

  • Good comment.

I'm looking at 76 key's size since am not a big fan of piano keys. As far as i know and have been playing around with all brands, nothing i mean NOTHING can come close to Oasys. People will always complain cos that's what they are after, not the quality of the insturment. I'll say....learn all the good bit's of the product before you find something you can't or don't know who to do.

  • At 3:12 what Combi is that? That in itself could be an amazing start for a cinematic soundtrack. Let me know ASAP.

    Thanks!

  • wrong oasys is based off the IBM Cell chipset technology. but his is still a bad keyboard, the piano sounds as good as my tyros 2 piano,

the hardware does not let this beast down. its sampling tecniques and application of sound which lets it down. you are an utter idiot if you have purcased this, its over priced and has been built completly off old phantom technolgy, with the added karma.

those keyboards where slated, from bad sounds and technology and they wack that in one case. nice!

  • The OASYS is a P4 2.8Ghz Processor! It's NOT an IBM Chipset. And if that's how you feel about the OASYS, then you must one REALLY SAD person who probably REALLY wants one, but "can't afford it" and is talking himself out of it by bashing it. Nice going, buddy!

  • you ever been indide one before, i have and the chipset clearly says IBM cell technologies. i wouldnt want one my dads got one. i was just trying to say that if its a piano sound you are wanting the oasys is a bad choice, but i do love the synth sounds this can projuce and the karma technology is very advanced, compared to otherboards on the market, but when you have the choice between getting a upgrade from my last keyboard, i went for a wersi organ which had very nice sounds on it and

  • this organ cost more than this keyboard, so it is not that i dont have the money, i just dont like the keyboard, but my dad says its okay

  • Sorry to dissapoint You, but main CPU of OASYS is Pentium IV. ;-) You can even read it on Korg's website.

  • sorry to dissapoint you but the first edition of the oasys had a IBM cell chipset for the main processor, its only been on an updated release which they started installing the pentium chipsets, but it was not a four series it was a pentium custom, mainly because pentium will not allow manufactures making non universal computer products to carry there main range of processors including the p4. same with Xbox and playstation which has intel chipsets but they are of custom type.

  • not pentium i ment intel

  • And what is the source of this information? URL?

  • Im a korg engineer, nuff said

  • Not true. :^)

  • If your talking about the FIRST OASYS Project, which was known as the Blue Bomber, then yes, it had an IBM chipset. But the current OASYS 88 and 76 use a Pentium 4 2.8Ghz Processor which is a LOT more powerful than you guys actually think. This is NOT a typical Linux PC. The OASYS handles processes in a way that a Mac or PC cannot.

  • "The OASYS handles processes in a way that a Mac or PC cannot."

That seems interesing. Could You explain it a bit more?

  • Go to the Sound on Sound Magazine website and search for Korg OASYS. Part 1 and 2 is what you need to read if you want an explanation. I can't explain it very well, so I'll leave it to the experts at Sound on Sound to explain it to you.

Get back to me once you read it and let me know your view.

    Peace.

  • @mcvspam Answering a little late, dedicating an entire PC to a spesific task and wrting the core especially for this task gives you many oppurtiunities that you do miss when putting a generalized OS in between. You could make an oasys by standard PC hardware, using the same adapted OS, and adding lots of buttons, sliders, and 88 weigthed keys.. thats what they did :) A great advantage of this is that you can easily upgrade and replace any bruken part on the inside.. Noone has less than 2G RAM

  • "The OASYS handles processes in a way that a Mac or PC cannot."

    You mean what?

  • Oh I hate Youtube commenting system. It puts replies in wrong places at first.

I have read the review long time ago, but I rechecked it in some places again.

Still all I can read from it is that heart of OASYS is just a PC with RT-Linux in it.

So do I have RT-Linux (but I don't use it, since normal Linux kernel is now sufficient for me

    for audio-processing).

    ...

  • ...

Basically Real Time OS lets You run your userspace applications with priority over other

applications and even over kernel. Those OS'es have been used for years in embedded

systems. You must have heard of QNX or VxWorks that drivened Mars probes. ;-)

  • I'm one of the team that designs the OASYS. The mid-1990s, never-released OASYS keyboard (aka "blue bomber") used custom Korg ASICs. The modern OASYS keyboard (released in 2005) uses a P4 2.8. No version of the OASYS used cell processors.

  • you ppl have no idea what you talking about. you have to have one to know what it sounds like and what it can do.

  • Amazingly bad sound quality. Doesn't do the OASYS justice. I've just bought a Motif XS7 which I think has a better piano sound, and better acoustic sounds. But the OASYS is still sick, but the fact that it still costs so much after being out so long is just not right :p

  • yeah ands its based off really old hardware P4 WTF thats 2 generations behind intels current chip

  • someone know the song that he play

  • is the oasys's screen a kaoss pad like the m3?

  • That's what the blue vector joystick is for.

  • got damn to bad its $14,000

  • More like 8000.

  • very good very cool

  • this is quite annoying, i just bought a TRITON extreme, and this is... just a little bit better maybe lol

    .....damn thats irritating!

  • You would have paid several, several thousand more. Don't feel bad.

  • Triton Extreme is cool but nothing NOTHING beats the Oasys... Its just unreal.

  • thats why im annoyed lol. still, iv got £35, im 1% of the way there :P

  • No Korg machine can swing as an old Technics KN2000.

  • It really is the Ultimate Keyboard I honestly dont think they can get much better technology wise so if you can wait for maybe its price to come down a little more do it or else GET ONE!

  • If u don't have one GO GET IT!!!!!!! Its well worth it. I already made my money back by selling beats!!!!!!!! The Oasys is tha SHIT!!!!!!!!

  • A dream!

  • I want one!

  • I love his music style. A lot of sophiticated chordings.
