The word “apocalypse" means to unveil, not the end of the world. The meaning of the apocalypse is the opposite of what most people think. It does not mean the end of the world; it means the revealing of hidden secrets and the beginning of a heaven on earth. Genesis And Revelation are the two books in the bible that I have the biggest problems with. Genesis because it is pure fiction. Revelation because it is so ambiguous that anybody can twist it into anything. I once met a man who sincerely believed that the book or revelation endorsed pot.
@MSPEL Genesis is not 100% true. It takes a deeper look and understanding to see this in the 1st chapters which are a summary. God created the universe, Adam and Eve were real though briefly exposed. The stories in Genesis too, including the likes of Joseph, and Moses have been proven historically to dismiss all claims of provable error in the bible. The book of Revelation is a prophetic book like many other portions of the bible. It takes a close walk with God to understand such things

@okebaram If the entire world was under water for 40 days most of the plant life would die. There is not anyways near enough water to submergerg the entire planet. A flood of that magnitude would have left a layer of silt that would be easy to find anywhere. The oral history of all cultures would only go back 6000 years. Can you clarify a couple of things? You said "that's not true." What is not true? Are you saying we will know the day and the hour of Jesus return? Heaven and earth will not pass away. The greek for "new" in Revelation in referring to "new heavens and a new earth" means "refreshed" or made new again, or restored to it's orignal splendor. It is paradise restored. Who did a slight of hand and switched the time of the new heavens and new earth? From what time to when?
What I meant, is pretty much what you said earlier. As the day gets nearer we can be more specific. Also the passages that reffer to no one knows, not the Son not the angels or any man, always is preceded by Jesus describing His return, then he says Heaven and Earth will pass away, but when that happens, only the Father knows. Jesus is talking about no one knowing when Heaven and Earth will pass away, at the end of His 1000 year reign. Not His 2nd Coming we will know when that is.

Genesis And Revelation are the two books in the bible that I have the biggest problems with. Genesis because it is pure fiction. Revelation because it is so ambiguous that anybody can twist it into anything. I once met a man who sincerely believed that the book or revelation endorsed pot.

@MSPEL Genesis is not 100% true. It takes a deeper look and understanding to see this in the 1st chapters which are a summary. God created the universe, Adam and Eve were real though briefly exposed. The stories in Genesis too, including the likes of Joseph, and Moses have been proven historically to dismiss all claims of provable error in the bible. The book of Revelation is a prophetic book like many other portions of the bible. It takes a close walk with God to understand such things

@okebaram If the entire world was under water for 40 days most of the plant life would die. There is not anyways near enough water to submergerg the entire planet. A flood of that magnitude would have left a layer of silt that would be easy to find anywhere. The oral history of all cultures would only go back 6000 years. Stalactites and stalagmites in caves would not be anyways near as large as they are. I could go on and on. I have read creationist literature in the past. It is all bunk.

The timetable consists of 7 years of tribulation, or testing of the church, then 1 year of wrath on earth and marriage supper in heaven, for a total of 8 years.
Daniels 70th week (7 days) are the 7 years of tribulation.
The Day of the Lord is the 8th year, Isa 63:4
Rapture occurs at the beginning of the Day of the Lord, after the tribulation, Matt 24:15-31.
The 2nd coming is at the end of the Day of the Lord.

Using the words logic and reason with religion is an oxymoron. The truth is, religion is a political tool designed to keep the masses of people compliant, cohesive, and in agreement to what ever the rulers leaders deem fit. And that we do not when Heaven and Earth will pass away, Bible Experts did a slight of hand and switched the time of the New Heavens and New Earth with the Return of the Lord

Can you clarify a couple of things? You said "that's not true." What is not true? Are you saying we will know the day and the hour of Jesus return? Heaven and earth will not pass away. The greek for "new" in Revelation in referring to "new heavens and a new earth" means "refreshed" or made new again, or restored to it's orignal splendor. It is paradise restored. Who did a slight of hand and switched the time of the new heavens and new earth? From what time to when?

What I meant, is pretty much what you said earlier. As the day gets nearer we can be more specific. Also the passages that reffer to no one knows, not the Son not the angels or any man, always is preceded by Jesus describing His return, then he says Heaven and Earth will pass away, but when that happens, only the Father knows. Jesus is talking about no one knowing when Heaven and Earth will pass away, at the end of His 1000 year reign. Not His 2nd Coming we will know when that is.
