I love my Belgian. After much research both about the breed and looking for a breeder, we found her. She was 18 months old. She is great with the kids, likes to cuddle, plays frisbee and ball like a fiend, a great running partner, a solid watch dog, and loves loves to swim. I love her and can't imagine having another breed.

XD.. i have one.. i´ve bought him with 5 months.. it was expensive.. cause it was a male and males are way more expensive than females.. now im training him.. since he likes to guard the house...

i've heard these dogs have a high intelligence level, but i didn't see them ranked on a top 10 list or anything. are they smart? smarter than an australian cattle dog? im deciding between the 2...please help! thanks =D

The intelligence ranking is based on how fast they learn and obey comands, how smart and how they solve problems is a different matter, i would bet that Belgian shepards would rank even higher on a smart and problem solving basis. My opinion is that they are lots smarter, quicker and faster learnes than most of the other top 10 dogs on the list.

It is impossible to tell which breed is smarter ;) This is an individual issue, every dog is different. Both Belgians and ACD are pastoral dogs, they all are very intelligent. I think the character of the breed is what you should rather take into consideration.

well if you want a smart dog, then take an australian cattle dog, if it is just as a pet, these dogs are equal, they'll both give you a good time

Both are dogs used for herding, and herding dogs are generally very intelligent. I don't think it matters what breed you pick/picked, but I'm very happy with my Tervueren puppy. She's incredibly fast-learning, yet a bit stubborn.

LOL Belgians all seem to play the EXACT same way! I've got a male Terv (8 Ch pts) Ravenmasque Summer RIot CGN TT RNCL and he plays the EXACT same way. He lived with Shelties as he grew up and now lives with two Alaskan Huskies and his play style is so different then those breeds! lol Its all bounces and zoomies.

I have 3 Belgain Tervurens. One male is 13 yrs. and i have a brother and sister that are 12 yrs. There life expectancy is 12 to 15yrs. so i'm enjoying my dogs everyday spending alot of time with them. Very nice dogs Wolfsongbelgains. Treasure man's best friend!
