wow, that pizza party commercial/game (which i owned) would have been lost in the depths of my mind but this clip brought it back no problem.. funny how the brain works..
Party...Pizza Party...let's rap like its 1988! The Italian chef shown the brothers how they make good pizza & actually can rap. Italians are known to sing, while Swedes can make a mean spicy meatball to put the Italians to shame crying "mamma". Btw, my own papa (father) was French & those Looney Tunes I saw on ABC featured Pepe Le Pew, and I'm like introduced to the French. Since I'm part Cherokee from Mom's side, I find it sad to never seen an "Indian" on 80's cartoons (or did I miss it?) +
I seen that movie in theatres & never imagined "the land before time" didn't gone extinct on TV, video & DVD. I award the "Swedish chef" as the best ethnic stereotype (LoL!) & we should have kids study about the great Swedes whose ancestors pillaged all of Europe a thousand years ago. Nevermind, we have "Norse/Viking" black metal music we listened to a decade later. I watched some CBS, usually "Garfield & friends" I was more into ABC schedule & when NBC shown toons, a few I cared for. +
Right on! The dates are correct..."The Land Before Time" premiered Nov. 18, 1988.
We used to eat Croonchy Stars, which had wonderfully ridiculous puzzles on the back of the box. One was a "big spelling contest!" were the winner was the one who could spell the word "rutabaga".
1988-1989 WAS A BAD TIME FOR ME BECAUSE, MY TEACHER HAD TAKEN MY PRIVELIDGES AWAY BECAUSE, I was behind in my school work. two years later, I tried to smack her because, she got nasty with me, and the treatment when I had her as a teacher.
I was 8 at the time, my parents divorced a year before & Mom wasn't able to find a job yet, the wall street crash in 87 caused a recession to follow in 6 years. Growing up in Sou. Cal., the local economy was in bad shape from mismanagement in the state government level. I wasn't doing bad at school though, did my homework & paid attention to my teachers, I was special ed. with the "retards" or "misfits" came from "little busses". I don't think toay's kids can get away with saying those terms.+
this is like the best commercial break every...croonchy stars were the effin best, they need to come back out with that. and PIZZA PARTY...i've been lookin for both these commercials forever
Every kid got yelled at for being elbow deep in the cereal box trying to dig out the prize. Or picking all the marshmallows out of lucky charms and eating them. The cereal part tasted like dog food.
Which Garfield and Friends episode shows the TV spot to The Land Before Time? Is it The Binky Show/Keeping It Cool/Don't Move! or is it Magic Mutt/Short Story/Monday Misery?
God Bless Muppet King Jim Henson who performed The Swedish Chef's voice and head- May he always rest in peace in heaven. The Chef's hands and arms were performed by Muppeteer Frank Oz!
the shows back then are so much better than the crap they show now

Some of these 80's television shows carried on over to the 90's playing re-runs so I actually do remember quite a few of these.
That weird Teenage Wolf man thing.
I never watched it, but I did see the opening along with commercial in regards to it.
