@spiritprofessor I think in this video we were using the Garrett Ace 250 and the Whites XLT. We have both gotten Minelab Etracs since then. Thanks for watching!
It's remarkable how eagerly people embrace the police state. I've had the same happen to me. Wholesome, decent white guys legally engaged in a fascinating hobby trigger alarms, yet vanloads of illegal aliens don't seem to bother anybody. Disgusting.
@PistolPackingPatriot I know right. If we had been dealing drugs on the sidewalk nothing woulda happened. But yet they called on us. It's the American way!! haha. Thanks for watching.
How do you ask for permission!? I mean i know what you could say but like... how do you ask? Do the home owners ever want what you find!? HH & GL to you!!
@ryannlag We just tell them who we are and what we do and that we look for old pennies, etc. Most home owners think there is nothing in their yards,...so they just let us "play". Nobody has ever wanted anything except for "Old man Wallace" He is in another one of our videos.
Love the nosey bastards that will sit by and let drug deals go by in the neighborhood but let a metal detectorist show up and boy howdy, they call the po po.
@OneEyedCyberchicken Hummm, I dont know, Some do sell their coins. Or their duplicates. I dont sell anything. I figure we worked too hard to just buy stuff, lol. I did turn in my clad and bought some old silver with it. Each coin is special and tells a secret. I will never sell my finds. Thanks for watching.
@MrMrwilem I think everybody detects Darlington, lol. As we were hunting a guy rode up and he detected that old school. Said he had detected every sidewalk in Darlington. Hitting it for 40 years. A friend of mine still found a 1899 Morgan right beside the steps beside that old school. I found a bottle dump in the woods beside the creek.
you want to be careful about touching the soil too much, forgot what it's called but you risk getting something bad off the soil so use gloves when you can
awesome how u get permission with ur buddy u have goin up door knockin ha. thats gutsy, and how can u ask politely, hey can we dig up your yardd and take what we find?? I mean do u not offer 50/50 , or just pull that tech out when the home owners decline. I cant see saying we'll give you 20-30 percent workin... i just really wonder...thanks. Keep up the good work, first vid i've gotten into so far
Over here in Australia we have a field strewn with loads of coins and such but because of the makeup of the ground its nothing but false signals so frustrating for a novice
See you guys were hunting a town that I have been hunting in. I founds a sterling silver ring, a a japanese 1 yen coin, a 1935 wheatie and a bunch of clad! I like the videos you have on here! I was thinking about an E-trac, I own a Whites DFX and a 5900 pro also made by whites.
@cheraw1989 In my earlier videos I was using a Whites XLT. I found silver with it at a home and searched it hard. I went back with the Etrac and found so many coins it was like we hadn't even been there before. Thats what made me a believer.
It is just human nature for old folks to bust your fun...they are too old to enjoy what you may be doing, and they have to bring your fun level down to equal theirs...
Hey I think that meal coin was giving out to employees of companys so they could use their paychecks to buy food etc. I think they are rare, but not to valuable. Cool though man, maybe they are more valuable to certain people.
The metal detecting part of the video is great (especially nearly getting arrested for trespassing), but the fantastic thing is that father and son are enjoying a hobby together. Your relationship seems to be great and it can provide a great goal for others of us.
Great metal detecting video. You did the right thing, getting permission. That way when the police rolled up, you were in the right and could tell them that. Great dog tricks at the end of the video!!!!!
@FenderStrat19711 You should check out the lastet video #29 where we were detecting the mayors house. She left and we were in a small town and the local sheriff kept making his rounds,...I was waiting for him to stop and ask and I was gonna tell him the Mayor (his Boss) told us it was ok, haha. But he never did and all was good. Thanks for watching =)
I'm running a 12 year old Bounty Hunter that was never used. I actually bought it brand new and just in the last three weeks I put the first batteries in it. I noticed yesterday it acted up big time on wet ground. And as the ground dried up in the afternoon it went back to normal. It wouldn't pick up anything hardly on the wet grass, but as the grass dried it started throwing the signals as normal.
@howtobible Usually wet ground is good because the conductivity is high and allows you to detect deeper targets. However for whatever your reason detector might have been getting feedback from the water maybe?? Not sure. People have trouble on beached because of the salt in the water. Anyways dont let it deter you,...keep digging! Best of Luck!
@88schwyptrlcar Thanks! I was out digging today for about an hour and my batteries died all at once! I now think that they were weak and that is what was causing my problem yesterday! So to fix it I just popped in a couple of new ones and I'm up and running! Good luck to ya man!
im not being mean or anything but when i metal detect i dont rub the coin it makes the coin worse every time u rub it ,try not to rub your coins everybody
@metaldetectorhead I have a Whites XLT also. I've had it for 8 years. I just got the minelab within the last 6 months. They both have there advantages. As for the snow,.....maybe NW like in Aiken they get some snow but we hardly get any. We went detecting yesterday and I almost got a sunburn and it was 60 degrees.
@Isp5570 Dad just got a ticket yesterday for not wearing his seatbelt! Haha. I reminded him of your comment off of this video as a warning to him. lol
@Scyko7 We took it to Precision Lapidary in Florence, SC. The owner is WONDERFUL and super honest and nice. He isnt out to make a killing off of you like gold places or pawn shops. I wouldnt trust anyone else.
Bad boys bad boys, whatcha gonna do, whatcha gonna do when they come for you... lol, thats pretty funny, the good thing is that proves their neighborhood watch program is working... Always a blast watching your outings and look forward to many many more. Happy New Years !
Another cool vid, sorry you got busted by the fuzz. I always wonder who is watching me when I metal detect haha. Have a great new years guys. OH yeah cute doggies.
Thanks for taking us along on your last hunt of the year. Your nose's looked clean to me. Congratulations on your finds! Looking forward to you guys' hunts next year.
@TheIlldigger He had 4 rings, 1 broken necklace, 1 broken bracelet. Most all was 14k except for 1 ring and it was 10k. We were both shocked at what he got. I had said atleast $150 but my true guess was between $200-$250. I'm glad I was wrong......we both walked away smiling!
LOL... Cute dogs... I have been watched by city and county police before... It is against the law to detect in a city park here and a Kane County Forest Preserve... The good thing is that most of the parks around here including the ones inside the city are owned by the park district and I can detect there all I want... The Park District Police just wave when they go by... Nice hunt guys and congrats on the gold.
$571 ????!!!!! Wow! That's a good way to end the year. Congrats on your finds and I look forward to seeing your videos next year. Happy new year to you and your dad...
What kind of detectors did you use again from what company? Have a good one man. Be well.

@88schwyptrlcar that explains a lot...decent coins are hard to come by around here. found a 1917 walker a few rosies and a few mercs.
