  • thats bullshit. He should NOT have been fired. Its not like he was rude or anything. Aol should of just spoken to the guy.

  • @remixrgrapper If you listion to the full converdation, the guy threatened to "stall the process all day"

  • Hey, at least he got to talk to someone in the same continent. When I phoned BT to do the same thing, I couldn't even understand what the poor guy was saying through his accent.

  • It's like canceling an AT&T account.....virtually impossible! LoL poor guy!

  • when i canceled my account, it took 45 minutes.

  • i am 19 & recently working as a customer representative at AOL in one of the contact cnters based here in the Philippines.Watching this, it is really freaking annoying. It is rily a gud thing that AOL made major changes in rgards w/ call flow. It was a yr ago since this incident hppened & AOL learned a lot from this call. I am looking forward for more changes from the company.

    Kudos to VF! \m/

  • This is why AOL is still the main ISP in America. Those ppl on the other end of the line are trained and asked to rouse the customer, harass the customer until he/she gives up. GODDAMN AOL

  • it took 2 hour 10 trys....!!!

then the said they canceld it....One year later a huge bill. they made us pay it

OH! why would CNN talk bad about AOL??THEY OWN AOL 100%

    WTF?!

Thats like Fox news talking shit about bush

FYI dont think i like bush

  • I know his pain but it took me 45 MINUTES TO CANCEL! The main problem was they were so committed to swindle some more money out of me that they ignorantly kept me on hold for 12 minutes. Feking assholes!

  • thats the most uninteresting story i've ever heard: the aol guy didn't do as he was told, oh my god!

  • In my job i come across insane numbers of people who have tried to cancel aol accounts and aol just keep claiming the money, months upon months, sometimes even taking their fee twice in one day! i simply cannot beleive they get away with this, where the hell are the trading standards in america?

  • I had a friend who worked in an AOL customer support role. The employees were under tremendous pressure to retain accounts calling in to cancel. AOL gave them an ever-changing script that contained every possible reason the customer might give for cancelling and a rebuttal to get them off the topic / change their mind.

  • The number one thing that people need to remember is that AOL's *SECOND* form of income is providing internet service. Their #1 income is from selling (yes, selling) a customer's information (their "demographics", their income, which sites they visit, etc) to AOL's "affiliated" businesses. Didn't you even wonder how, after browsing a certain type of website that you began receiving email from them despite never having identified yourself? AOL is a pack of theives and liars.

  • That's how they got to be so big and rich. Isn't it aol with Time and Warner, now?!! Makes me sick cuz they tried to rip me off too. Everyone should cancel their aol accounts. Why should we support such assholes.

  • The worst part is that even if you have a conversation like that, you have a 50/50 chance of them "forgetting" about canceling your account. You end up having to do it all over again...

  • thats awsome

  • LoL :D
