Minecraft idea:

Build HUUGE obsidian gate. There are seven holes in the gate. Depending on what those holes are filled with, the gate will open up into different worlds. The nether, of course would be one of those worlds. But also, perhaps, giant, desert only worlds. Or maybe a world where only small islands and deep ocean is generated. Maybe a sky world, or an ice world. Plains world. All kinds of different worlds and mobs. Fill the holes with a relic from each world, and you get a final boss.
