I remember when they showed the first two episodes of this and Evangelion on Toonami (oh how I miss thee) and I was completely hooked. Both made me a fan of Japanese animation for life. One of the few anime I like but subbed AND dubbed. Gekiganger FTW!

Its seriously awesome how this series was made in like 1995-6 because the graphics are pretty breath-taking. And being at the same period Evangelion was made, probably influenced the storyline to have a certain amount of depth.

Its a wonder how some people are say that this anime is direct and simple because the layer of emotions and theories are incredibly thick.

really i watched this before gurren lagann, and i must say, its very close, but this one just won me over so much more, especially on the character depth of multiple characters factor.

Favorite episode was the one with all the funerals and ceremonies :D

i love how they spoil the plot somewhere in the beginning using geki gengar (forgot how to spel it) to hide it

One last thing. This isn't about the video, but the last episodes of Neon Genesis Evangelion kind of screwed up the whole series for me... I found it very disappointing. Oh well...
