hey guys.. if you want to play online, use ArmA 1.14 and Tunngle (zero-configuration virtual private network). It's easier to use and more stable than hamachi. It has virtual rooms so it is easy to find others who play it. If your PC can't run ArmA2, this game is for you :p

no there is no fees or anything, just buy the game, you can get it for like $20 now, but once you buy it thats it , theres single player missions, mp missions, coop, missions you can make for the hell of it in the editor, misssions u can make for sp, and mp, you can do anything, go anywhere, be anyone, do anything, provided you can dream it up and know how to do it. buy the disc version ,if you have vista 64 the game will give you trouble , but theres ways to make it work.

Crap, i just deleted a comment that i wanted to comment on XD A user said that there are many reskins used in this vid. Yes - this is a pretty early vid from Arma, when the only mods available were the reskins ;) It always starts with reskins and then you see players designing stuff like Boeing 747 (so you can play hostage taking scenario :P) Fan base and modding base is an incredible thing about this game giving the game a really long life.

Yes of course ARMA does have single player mode. Also there are even mods that expand or introduce a new single player story/plot. It is more than recommended that you finish it before trying the multiplayer (as you play you'll learn how to use different vehicles, etc).

Unfortunately ;( This game suffers from a relatively small player base. If it had as many players as WOW or say, Battlefield 2 - that would be awesome. It's hard to believe that with all the gamers out there we still cant find fine people to play it.

lol, i think you need to do a little research on arma. It is a military simulator, which puts no favor into any different faction.

It is by far the most realistic war sim out there, and is even used by the military for tactical training.

Yeah i'd also say its balanced and Russians often kick your ass to the point that you want to throw your monitor out the window. And it shows nice, new and modern Russian gear as well. Its a good game for 'military lovers' - you'll find a lot of gear there! I just wish the reloading animations were proper :D

Let's make it simple. 4 Xample (BF2) 3 players decide to make some extra points. so they decide what teams they should be on. "Freddy" & "Johnny" are on the MEC team and "Dick" is on the USMC. Now. These three fellows travel to a remote location on the map. Then they start statspadding. Dick is Killing Johnny who is constantly revived by Freddy. :P Did you get it?

@Sablingbling: Yes mouse cursors and a couple of small things are visible. It was even more in the prev. version. Was too lazy to remove them cause processing in Sony Vegas took way too long. But its doable ;)

And in general - game is cool. I just wish they improved bits in the multiplayer as (still) multiplayer is an epic classic!!! All that freedom and stuff! Sweet!

It depends on what version did you buy. Both available patches (1.5 and 1.8) fix lot of bugs, make the game running better and add lot of new stuff. If you have ARMA with Queen's Gambit you don't need any patches.
