@runnerbaba the Covette wasnt meant to be 2+2 sports car, GM tried to do it many years before the GTR was even thought up. and if you want to compare prices, the base Z06 is still cheaper then the GTR's base price. GM also wanted to put in a TT V-6, but many Covette enthuasist insisted it stay a V-8. Front Mid mounted engine with RWD. the GTR uses AWD to optmize it grip. indeed they are both great cars.

Funny to see cause the video showed the real and virtual course in splitscreen. I get really different times if I turn traction-control or ABS. Even on low levels.

gtr is a 3.9 liter v6 as standard kicks out between 497 and 506 bhp , each car is slightly different in engine power as they are all hand built (engine wise ) this is also the hardest cornering car in the world .
I don't think the ZR1 is faster than the GTR at all. It used almost slick tyres instead of standard tyres and on a very long track like that it will account for at least 7 seconds a lap, if not more.

Hmm ... there are many, many great cars. The Corvettes have become great cars, I see them often at the track now, even in Belgium or Germany... and mostly depending on the driver, they are very fast.
But, I choose to buy a GTR because of its 4WD and its price... more budget left for tires, maintenance etc. And yes, it is not cheap, but what do you expect? Much, much cheaper then a Lambo or Ferrari ...

@omar53333 Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the GT-R isn't an impressive car. But considering the differences, the Z06 and Zr1 are more impressive. The GT-R has huge advantages on a circuit like the nurburgring, AWD, paddle shifted manual valve transmission, ceramic headers stock, small high boost turbos, and some of the best computer management ever. While the Z06 and ZR1 are only RWD, standard transmission, down pipes, and a basic computer, plus only a 6psi S/C (for the Zr1).

The GT-R has a AWD System handled by one of the best computer managements, disadvantages are that it is too heavy and has not the same power as the ZR1 or the GT2 RS.
The ZR1 has more BHP and torque than the GT-R, it is much lighter, but it has a Old school transmission and a RWD system.

@boahx does that mean the turbo in the GTR isnt stock either? stock meaning any vehicle coming off the show room floor, whether it has S/C or T/C on the engine is still comsidered as stock. if you buy the car and start adding these items to the car, then the car becomes modified.

Hmm ... there are many, many great cars. The Corvettes have become great cars, I see them often at the track now, even in Belgium or Germany... and mostly depending on the driver, they are very fast.
But, I choose to buy a GTR because of its 4WD and its price... more budget left for tires, maintenance etc. And yes, it is not cheap, but what do you expect? Much, much cheaper then a Lambo or Ferrari ...
Great cars, great people making them for us, anjoy all of them!!!! Smile!

Porsche or for that matter no other car manufacturer use bone stock cars, it has become a race between sport/super sport cars to get the best time around the ring, this time sales more cars than a tv spot, or a top gear review. if you are at ring when cars are tested you will see , semi slick tires, 10k suspensions, 19" brakes, exausts the size of a pumpkin and so on. do even boder to talk about OBD :)) point is the gtr has the BEST VALUE/MONEY ( LOOK FOR JUN AKIRA GTR 4.45LV6 DODSON GEAR P

@hdidane00 The ZR1 and Z06 both use Michelin PSC tires, they're the same tires on the ACR viper, and the Porsche GT2 RS. They're the same compound as the dunlop tires used on the GTR, they're even very indentical in tread. If you watch the full length Nurburg. run for the ZR1, you can even see the tires. The reason morons like you are trying to say these Michelin's are slicks, is because in 2009 Porsche claimed that Nissan used slicks on their car, to get their times. Which they admitted. Stupid

@Saul0052 But, the Ultimate competence was, The nurburgring, Meanwhile the GT-R used it base-car tyres, normal road tyres, the ZR1 and the GT2 RS Both used Dot Slick Tyres, wich are road legal slick tyres to make the record valid, however, the second round with the GT-R Vspec they did a much better record in WET road conditions, so, i dont actually see how the GT2 RS or the ZR1 actually beats the GT-R while, the ZR1 used every performance package and porsche never showed Video with the record

They are road legal race tires, not slicks. The GT-R uses Dunlops, which ironicly use the same compound as the Michelin's.

The reason these pathetic little GT-R fanboys are trying to spread this rumor, is because Porsche called out Nissan on the GT-R's claimed time (which came from a close circuit time(as in no one witnessed it)). Porsche had purschased their own GT-R and could not get anywhere near Nissan's claimed time. They asked Nissan if they used the stock Dunlop tires, and Nissan refused to answer....

@omar53333 Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the GT-R isn't an impressive car. But considering the differences, the Z06 and Zr1 are more impressive. The GT-R has huge advantages on a circuit like the nurburgring, AWD, paddle shifted manual valve transmission, ceramic headers stock, small high boost turbos, and some of the best computer management ever. While the Z06 and ZR1 are only RWD, standard transmission, down pipes, and a basic computer, plus only a 6psi S/C (for the Zr1).

The GT-R has a AWD System handled by one of the best computer managements, disadvantages are that it is too heavy and has not the same power as the ZR1 or the GT2 RS.
The ZR1 has more BHP and torque than the GT-R, it is much lighter, but it has a Old school transmission and a RWD system.

its in the middle of the GT-R and ZR1, the ZR1 having 638HP 7L, GT2 RS with 620HP 3.6L and the GT-R with 530HP 3.8.
It is the lighter of the Three, having 3000pounds of weight(aproximate), while the ZR1 has 3200+aprox and the GT-R 3800+
it has a Boxer/Flat engine wich gives even more stavility.

Why is a 5.7L 325HP camaro getting better mileage than a 2.2L 236HP Honda that weighs 700lbs less? GM uses larger motors out of design, not necessity.
