  • Best legs in TV history

  • And dig a young Bob Crane on the conga! For a drummer he didn't do the best job of looking like was playing. He seemed interested in Laura though.

  • magniffique. super des années 50

  • I bet Bob Crane was checking her out.

  • Dick Crane may have got some of this.. He was porno freak too.

  • @not2b8b4u Excuse me, but it's Bob Crane.

  • How can you not love her?

  • I never know whether I want to kiss her or just BE her!

  • She's cute all the way around and I'd totally TAP that for sure!!!

  • HOTNESSS!!!!!!!

  • Ohhhh how I wanna throw a dinner party with actual ACTs by friendz!

  • That's Bob Crane on percussion!

  • I like the show where big Richard Deacon nails Laura

  • Marry Tyler Moore was also pretty in EVERY seoson of the MTM show!! not just 1st seaon lol

  • @bubbletwist2370 Couldn't agree more. Mary rules.

  • do you have the Mp3 for this? If you do could you please send it to me? thank you x a million!

  • MTM playing Laura was sexy on the Dick Van Kyke Show but not on the MTM show unless she was dressing up to go out on a date or with a man. She looked so tall on the MTM show as well. Dick(Rob) was taller and more masculine that Mary(Laura), and there was incredibly chemistry between them. On MTM, she was playing down her sexuality because she was trying to make it on her own so she need to be more independent, tougher, less sexy.

  • There was an uproar when she wore pants instead of a shin-length dress. It was cutting edge at the time......

  • @VIKINGHUN Her clothes are fab. I love the uncluttered simplicity of mid-mod fashion. I wear clothes like this all the time. The pants are hard to find (JCPennys have some)

  • @midmodgal Very nice midmodgal. I like the uncluttered simplicity of those shows also....

  • God she was so hot back then I use to love to stay up late and watch this on nick at nite, sexy as hell!! And anybody that didn't like her was cause she was so mean in Ordinary People. Couldn't stand watching her character in that movie, cause of the image I always had of her

  • Mary Tyler Moore during the 1960s, in my opinion, was very sexy and attractive. I would say from her time on the Dick Van Dyke show up to the first season of the Mary Tyler Moore, at least to me, was sexy.

  • I looked for Dick Van Dike. And sweetes singer and dancer I found. I could watch this again and again, and it is ever so fresh Music and dance.

  • What a lovely singer and dancer. How she makes people happy!

  • MTM was so cute back in the day.

  • I don't know what song it's called, can anyone help me?

  • @EmmaJulieStar True, Man True, and it was written by Morey Amsterdam.

  • You gotta wonder what Bob Crane is thinking.

  • Does anyone know what kind of dance she is doing? Since I can't dance, I was wondering if this is Bosa Nova or the Cha Cha.

  • @loralie5974 It's calypso, lest you are interested.

  • Pardon my ignorance, but I never knew that MTM could move like that.....

  • @rafalweb She was a dancer before she started acting.

  • I'm STILL trippin over Bob Crane on the bongos!!!

  • so lovely/beautiful/sweet/sexy...long live MTM.

  • I don't care much for Mary Tyler Moore's later work or her politics. However, on this show she was hot, one of the best looking women of the 60's. I was pretty young then, I knew she was cute, but I watched this show then cuz I liked sitcom, of course Mary's ass was a bonus.

  • I really want to bone her a lot

  • Lovely!

  • Forgotten grace. Very nice but is this where obligatory male bashing began? She wasn't digging any damn swimming pool.

  • I Love she was the first TV Mom to wear (gasp!) Pants! She started a fashion craze with her pants and flats and brought moms-wear-pants reality to tv

  • Liked Bob Crane on conga drum, too.

  • Liked Bob Crane on the conga drum, too.

  • GORGEOUS!!!!

  • I can't imagine anyone splitting hairs after watching this clip. She's wonderful. She maes everyone smile. We love you.

  • the great Mary Tyler Moore....

  • they were so hep in those days...

  • hooogaaan!!!!! hogans.sweeet.I could just see him with the bomber jacket and the hat......and a smile right behind laura.....weeeeeeeeeeeebob crane lives!!!!

  • Wll, it's good for the sixties,, but seriuosly ,, has anyone, ever ,,, been at a neighborhood house party, when the wife suddenly got up and gave a full performance with the entire neighborhood singing the background..???

If so, i'd like to come to your next party!

  • @xvoy2002 My family would do things like this. But I think the idea for this came from Carl Reiner and the house parties the writers from the Sid Caesar show used to have.

Rob and Laura were show business people. They met as special services performers in the military and then Rob became involved with television performers. Makes perfect sense for the context of the show.

  • This dame had sex appeal for years and years.

  • This is my favorite 60's comedy show

  • i forgot that she could also sing & dance - - a genuine triple threat

  • What is this song called?

I love this little clip, I keep repeating it.

  • "the acutal fact" by morey amsterdam, the episode is "someone has to play cleopatra" at the end of the episode they say, i was really drunk when i watched this episode so you may want to clear that up or its "true man true"

  • Ah, thanks.

  • The land that never was, and what we tried to be. Almost 50 years later, it still is fresh, funny and intelligent. Yes, Boys and Girls, the 'television machine' could be intelligent!

  • Happy Hotpoint, Laura Petrie, Mary Richards; America's Sweetheart.

Who hasn't had a crush on this girl?

  • Don't forget her stint as 'Sam' on 'Richard Diamond, Private Detective'. (Yes, I know, all you saw of her were her legs).

  • That was slightly before my time, I'm afraid.

However, I'll seek out those on YouTube!

I'd be shocked to see her in any kind of a serious femme fatale role; I have too strong an image of her as a warm, engaging, lithe, goofy, face-pulling gamine. Her characterisations were stunning.

  • @Juliaflo did women really wear capri pants like that in the early 60s?

  • mtm and 'laura' were dancers before they got into sitcoms. great show...it made me happy then and now. thanks Dick and cast...

  • Colonel HOGAN!!!!!!!!!!!!! Vat are you doink playing ze congazz?

  • Bob Crane is a skilled drummer. I knew of him even before he did this program.

    (Uh-uh, I won't tell my age, LOLOLOL).

  • @moproducer haaaa haaaa.weeeeeeeee

  • I've been looking everywhere for this clip, THANK YOU!

  • ms harding was a babe, bob crane had a good time

  • CAPRI PANTS

  • tell me youre lying, ive been head over heels for laura petrie since i was a kid, i hope thats a joke, im sick!!!!!!!!!!

  • @chicagosfinest83 Sorry Man, read her biography on IMDB about her implants, and then check out a youtube clip tittled "Marys Flat".

  • I thought you were lying but I did saw the vid and she does can't believe it!

  • What a fun clip, saw it years ago and drooled over MTM's performance. She is such a clasic beauty, sadly now days some tv exec. would push implants and have her hair dyed blonde.

  • in the first season there is an episode "my blonde haired brunette", laura feels they're loosing the spark in their marriage so she dyes her hair blonde, go to hulu its FUNNY!

  • she is a babe

  • Years back I viewed an interview with Rob Reiner who recalled that while he was on set at the age of 15, he just couldn't resist himself one time and grabbed Mary's divine capri-covered ass. I don't recall whatever punishment he may have gotten from daddy Carl but it all would have been damn well worth it!

  • look at bob crane he just dreams about filming smut 24/7

  • he has to go home to millie YUCK!

  • hmmm.. Jerry Paris checking her out at 0:57 , and I don't blame him! HOT

  • hmmm.. Jerry Paris checking her out at :57, and I don't blame him!

  • A true hottie in her day.

  • There's non one prettier than 1960s Mary Tyler Moore.

  • The early '70s version comes pretty dayum close.

  • u know millie always turned me on more than Moore.

  • Liar-LOL

  • MILF

  • yup

  • What any of us guys would have been thinking except more cinematically?

  • What was that Perv Bob Crain thinking of while he was looking at her ass?

  • filming snuff porn what else do u think

  • God Bless those Capris........

    ahhhhh memories!!!

    Many thanks for posting....

    Wayne In Texas.

  • Totally beats any of those stupid whores on American Idol - I had to shut that shit off and watch something of quality, and not that with a capital K.

  • who needs youtube when you got a roomful audience :)

  • Mary Tyler Moore is about 25 here. She was born in 1937 and this is from about 1962. She was very sexy during the first couple of years of the DVDS, but I hated when after her hair got longer around late 1964 and she had it cut into a much shorter hairstyle. She just didn't look as sexy anymore. Then as the series wound down until the spring of 1966, she let it grow longer again. It starts getting "Marlo Thomas long" by this time.

  • you contradict yourself with faulty language it's hard to understand what you're saying...

  • I object to the invective aimed at me by 99Mary99.The "Laura" character was a sex object character.Viewers didn`t watch the show to hear Laura philosophize-they watched to look at Laura. This was especially true for male teenagers.Laura was like Pam Austin, Honey West or Pam Anderson.

I have the right to comment on her appearance in this context. And she did not have a svelte cupable ass.But she made up for it in other ways.

It is you 99Mary99 who is boorish-you don`t respect free speech.

  • Both of you get over your damn selves. Christ- dont you have anything better to do... It's an old tv clip. Watch it and enjoy it- Or dont. I don't care. Either way shut the fuck up.

  • I appreciate your sensitive criticism.Television is an important medium.People should be able to comment on it without evoking such crude invective.I`m not going to stoop to your level and respond with such crudity.

  • The impression I always had of her butt in this scene, was that it appeared different without high heels shoes on. These make the thighs prominents, and for balancing sake the bottom has to tighten somewhat, but being a guy, that's a guess.

In this scene, she's wearing flats.

  • @FlacosJeff dude thats bob crane playin the bongo behind mtm. and yu KNOW he at least TRIED to get her naked,if not videotape it.for that alone this clip is historical but you're right that other stuff is bullchit

  • I would say you're right; I always saw both Rob and Laura as eye candy. Carl Reiner created the show for himself, and decided Dick Van Dyke would be better, while Reiner occassionally appeared as Alan Brady.

I also thought both Rob and Laura very much in the JFK and Jackie mold.

Mary Tyler Moore had an earlier show called Sam Diamond (a private eye), and her character was simply called Legs, and that's all you saw of her.

I think I may've heard that at one time she was a foot model.

  • She would have been a hot foot model.Wow!

In her prime, she was an awesome sex object-right up there with Cindy Crawford or Julie Roberts.Had she come along 15 years later, she would have been good-very good-as a "Charlie`s Angel."

  • the show was richard diamond and her character was Sam and yes all you saw were her legs and sometimes her mouth

  • @1994g0 Nonsense. That is a very SVELTE CUPABLE ASS. Dancers have the best ass and legs.

  • @mrmott44 Let my opinion

be clear.I think MTM on the Dick Van Dyke show was phenomenally beautiful.Like Diane Rigg, MTM evoked mild S&M erotic fantasies as this gorgeous woman subtly abused her dopey husband Rob Petrie. In the 1960`s teen-aged boy world, MTM evoked enough sperm to populate a planet.

  • @1994g0 As kid of about 14 I had a crush on Laura. Not because she flaunted herself like Pam, but because she was a clean, wholesome, fun loving woman. She was the kind of woman most teens hoped to marry one day. (at least in 1961) The kind you would take home to meet your parents. Not the one you met on the sly because your parents might not approve of her.

  • @donteverlietome No.This was not Laura`s appeal at all.Sounds like you saw her as a girl next door type.Like a 20 year grown up version of Annette Funiello. But this wasn`t Laura Petrie`s appeal. On the contrary, Laura`s appeal was erotic in a mildly bitchy suburban young wife way.

  • @1994g0 Perhaps ones perspective is determined by ones background. I never thought of her as bitchy. She came across to me as a devoted loving wife and mother. I much prefer my image of her.

  • @1994g0 Perhaps ones perspective is determined by ones background. I never thought of her as bitchy. She came across to me as a devoted loving wife and mother. I much prefer my image of her. Never in a thousand years would I equate her image with Pam Anderson.

  • @1994g0

Perhaps ones perspective is determined by ones background.

I never thought of her as bitchy. She came across as a devoted loving wife. I much prefer my image of her.

Never in a thousand years would I equate her image with today's actresses who flaunt. Any sexuality she projected was simply from being slim, trim, and otherwise attractive. Not once do I remember her dressing provocatively or acting overtly sensuous.

But, our perception is formed by our formative years.

  • @1994g0 "Bitchy"? I've never though of Laura Petrie that way. She WAS definitely suburban, but not mean...

I have seen pictures of this, but I don't think I've ever seen this episode on TV...

  • babe

  • anyone have the clips from "my mother can beat up my father" where she performs judo on the guy at the beginning and rob?

  • you are such a DUMB ASS... her ass is not too big.. you are just GAY...

get lost you freak of nature

  • VistaXXX2008 - what a stupid comment on this video, what is gay about it huh? It's not a real party, it's ment to be funny.

  • There are some things you remember as a child you hear or see or smell something that you never forget. This song is one of them, sitting down with my parents and watching this in the 60's when it was appropriate to watch t.v. as a family. Thanks FlacosJeff for posting great memories and a classic comedy show!

  • Mary Tyler Moore is SO ADORABLE!

  • I think I'd rather have Dick Van Dyke and Mary Tyler Moore in office than McCain-Palin.

  • This is why we all should vote the Palin-McCain ticket in 2008 regardless of our exterior persuasions!

  • I always liked the DVDS. I always got the sense that the Petries actually loved and liked each other. Sexy, sophisticated, the whole thing. I can't say that I felt that about other couples from shows of this time like Ozzie and Harriet, the Cleavers, etc.

  • husband what a help he is...he play dee golf...and i'm tee-ed off...

she is so cute and dances so well...i can't stop smiling...

  • the great Mary Tyler Moore.........

  • love mary tyler moore!

  • LOL at 'Petrie dish'!

  • Could someone post the episode to this? I think I saw some of it in a blooper reel too. =) thanks

  • I tivo'ed it for this clip, but don't have the whole episode anymore. :(

  • I love the way she goes from being Mary Tyler Moore the sexy dancer and singer to Laura Petrie, the wife of Rob Petrie. The transformation is instantaneous and isn't she a brilliant actor to pull it off so smoothy.

  • i love laura

  • Morey Amsterdam (Buddy)wrote this song.

  • i love may tyler moore :) :O

  • Rob and Laura Petrie were the first TV husband and wife to share a bed. A very early I Love Lucy, maybe even the pilot, had Ricky and Lucy in the same bed but they had twin beds the whole series.

  • Rob and Laura didn't share a bed. They slept in the twin beds with a nightstand and a lamp between them. Still the 60's.

  • Herman and Lily Munster was the first husband and wife to share a bed.

  • wrong! the early

TV sitcom "Mary Kay & Johnny" was the first TV series to portray a

married couple who slept in the same bed.

  • nope it was fred and wilma flinstone. your both wrong.

  • Look it up man. I know I am right cause I looked it up. ....

  • no it was Samantha and Darrin Stevens on Bewitched

  • MTM was great!!! I love this dance! i copied the dance steps, and my mom re-wrote some of the words, and I did this (exactly the way she danced too, it took me forever to learn it!) for a school talent show. Everyone loved it!!! I admire Mary Tyler Moore and Laura and Mary soooooooooo muc and they are awesome!!!!

  • Laura Petrie was a real flower.

  • I wonder what that PERV Bob Crain was thinking while he was watching Mary dance?!

  • lol

  • Probably the same thing any other red blooded healthy heterosexual man that had a beautiful sexy woman dancing around him would've been thinking!!

  • Hi Jeff! Good to see you back on you tube. Keep it up! Aunt Joan

  • Beautiful? She was sexy & sizzling! I was in LOVE with Laura Petrie and stayed in love with Mary Tyler Moore my entire life! (Embarrassingly enough though...I copied her dance moves as a teen and to this day hesitate to dance in front of others!)

  • lol

  • Wow. They were REAL performers back then. Tyler was the first on-screen homemaker to wear pants on a television series. Classic!

  • she was?

  • Yeah, she was a babe! Every boy in my junior high school was in love-and-lust with her. She was all we talked about on the way to school the morning after the show.

  • She is beautiful.
