Esoteric is a very much underrated rapper. If you want to read his words of wisdom on the subject of rapping and rapping technique, then check out the book, "How to Rap".
Damn I thought this was MC Esoteric as well, but I love this too! Finding new music accidentally is like early Christmas...unless you do it on Christmas. A majority of underground hip hop lovers enjoy a very diverse mix of music, the mainstream is the cancer of our culture and it`s not fair that a lot of people focus and identify real hip-hop with that rap shit but that`s life... I`m sure people associate this with trailer trash white people but it`s got some good atmosphere to it, it`s music!
i like the conversations i see here, it's good to be open minded and respect other genres of music... all of them have something to offer, and thank god for pop. without pop, we'd have a bunch of hussy metal fans. pop keeps them contained haha. i apologize for the bit oh hypocrisy in that last statement
i thought this was emcee esoteric from 7les, army of the pharaohs, the demigodz, east coast advengers...not metal...but its cool i dont hate it...UNDERGROUND HIP-HOP.....
I have to agree being of one of the people who does like both. Just because they are polar opposite doesn't mean that a person who likes Hip Hop, Actually hates Metal.
Just curious, mostly it's black people who listen to hip hop that hate metal, don't know why. But anyways, respect mate ;) It's still a bit weird though, a black person listening to metal, i don't mean that racist.... but it's like a white guy into the hip hop thing you know....
Please...Race don't mean shit in my point...In the end were all dust anyways...So Let's just enjoy MUSIC...To Me Genre don't mean shit...I find something special in each Genre I listen to...Well...Except for pop...
@MrKennyWilliams Could I aggree more with you? Possibly not! When I was 12-15 yars-anything else but metal had value 2 me...but that was a teen-age "thing", and fair enough. But It`s sad when adults are stucked unto the the same; haven`t one single genre added since...kindergarden?
@Metaldude1945 i listen to metal like acid bath, soilent green, eyehategod ect and i listen to jedi mind tricks, immortal technique, and this. not that uncommon is it lol
@Metaldude1945 Are you stupid? I listen to trash metal, and underground hip hop. I know atleast 5 friends in my school that does the same. So you are totally wrong.
@xaultimateax Uhm, i will not lower myself to the level of scolding, but i do know a lot of metalheads, but they don't particularly listen to rap too. So i still think it's still pretty unique.
@Metaldude1945 You'd be surprised. I am a rapper and I love underground hip hop and I also love listening to this kinda music. Underground rap fans and Metal fans aren't ignorant or brainwashed like the rest of society.
@Metaldude1945 i listen to metal, 70s rock, hip hop, reggae, trance, punk, psychodelic ambient and bunch of other stuff. even more i love all of these genres
Why didn't you just set your profile to a director's account? I did and I have an 11 minute video on my profile, I've seen some approaching 30 before.
I think this one was very good, Caucus Of Mind is an incredible mix of violence anf doom, but Lamented Despondency form E.D. will always be their best song, form me.
Sort of a funny story behind the entire "The Manicale Vale" album for me. I was walking home from work one day with my zune on. I had just got the album and not had a chance to listen yet. So as I was walking home I began listening for the first time. It was really dark out at the time and the atmosphere was so fucking prefect for the music that I ended up going into somewhat of a trance and taking a bunch of detours through foresty areas until disc 1 was over. My parents were worried lol.
Hard to judge I think... From a metalheads perspective it -feels- like the band is more well known, 'cause the kind of people you associate with and discuss music with have likely heard them, whereas they might not know the rapper. Then to some underground hip-hop heads, they might have all the people they're around usually know the rapper, but not the band. The band has certainly been around longer tho as far as I know. I do think Jedi Mind Tricks is more well known overall than Esoteric tho
the reason I mention JMT is because it is the most well-known rap crew that Esoteric has been associated with; The others like 7L/Apathy, etc. are probably a bit less known than the band Esoteric.
Hmmm... actually when I made that post I wasn't aware that Esoteric the rapper was associated with an act (or multiple), so I was just judging from his solo stuff. It seems Esoteric the rapper is more known than Esoteric the band from an objective point of view. Although Esoteric the band have contributed to the genre they play enormously and are giants in that particular genre, it is still too underground to be appealing to the masses unlike underground hip-hop which is still more accessible.
Aye, I can agree with that for sure. :) If we look at what Esoteric is to funey doom versus what Esoteric is to rap, the doom act is clearly 'bigger' within its respective field, but for sure yeah - there are a lot more educated underground hip-hop fans than there are funeral doom heads without a doubt as like you said, despite being underground it's still a lot more accessible (rap).
@SodomyUndLust you're right they didn't. but esoteric is a dope "real" rapper in that its actual lyrical hiphop not this garbage on the radio. that being said THIS song is bad ass i just found this by accident. the vocals are insane
@SodomyUndLust the definition of esoteric is "only understond by an elite group that only few would understand " so i dont think they stole the name from a rapper
Tryin to be back motherfucka? They didn't "form" in the same year, where'd you read that? Wikipedia? And Esoteric the rapper has jointly sold nearly [or over] a million albums. Who the fuck is this shit metal band? Do more people know them? No. Don't be a stupid fuck, the whole world doesn't revolve around you. I'm fucking English and I haven't heard of these cunts.
Lol. I like how you try and descredit him without any evidence (not saying you're wrong) but then make a claim of selling nearly a million copies without backing it up either. Maybe if you count all of the albums he's been featured on including JMT shit... (jointly) but Solo he hasn't sold close to that. And if you do it jointly, if you branch out for every band every member of Esoteric has played in, they're much more well known too.
