@JNagarya - no disagreement there - it is Dylan's song, after all. But interestingly as my notes indicate, Dylan himself re-thought the song along other lines as the decades went by, and there are a couple of boots of him doing the song uptempo and loud, if not exactly exuberant.
@CompVid101 You'll find several of Dylan's own reinterpretations here on youtube. (Also check out the clips of his performances at Newport Folk Festival, especially "Pawn in Their Game". They are from the DVD "The Other Side of the Mirror.")
@JNagarya - I've written several articles on Dylan, this song, and on live performances of his, including those on YT. Since his people and the record companies are very aggressive about keeping Dylan stuff off of YT, many of the uploads tend to be rather short-lived.
@CompVid101 It seems there are fans almost as aggressive at re-uploading them.
I see them as sales tools. The videos from Rolling Thunder, as example, are sufficient to get one to buy (unless one already had) and listen to those recordings.
I'll bet more than one fan, after seeing a few of the videos, bought the "Newport DVD". (I lent mine to a friend, and almost didn't get it back. It converted him. That means another copy of the DVD got sold.)
@JNagarya - would that the companies see them similarly. I rather like having the hyperlinks to Amazon or Android under videos of copyrighted songs, and I've bought more than a few from artists whose albums/CDs I wouldn't necessarily buy. Capitol/EMI has blocked (not cancelled, but blocked playing) of about 30 of my 80 ior so KT videos - c'est la vie. They don't have the copyright to this version, so it's safe for now - though I much prefer Dylan's quiet original, as you noted.
@CompVid101 I asume you got the twofer releases of original KS LPs on "collectors' choice"?
"New Frontier" and "Time to Think," espcially the latter, which bookended the JFK assassination, are probably my favoirte LPs, though it is astonishing how consistently great they were, especially as they made at least two LPs per year.
Two absolutely favorite songs: "Take Her Out of Pity," and, "2-10, 6-18".
@CompVid101 What doesn't work with "One Too Many Mornings" is the harmonies. It's definitely a song for a single voice. The harmonies make one wonder how all three of these guys knew the same woman as equally and intimately well, and all broke up with her at the same time, and had the exact same feelings about it.
@TucsonDavid1 - Truly do we all miss JS, But actually - the last verse is Nick Reynolds singing, much as it at first sounds like John. Nick was actually a high baritone whose flexible voice is usually heard doing tenor harmonies.
Nowhere near as good as Dylan's. Listen to the lyrics: they are not celebratory, or exuberant.

I've loved the KS since 1958.
