@mmd787 I can asure you that Emirates have some smooth beautiful A380 landings, but remember that they are putting maybe 310-320 tonnes to the ground at maybe 140-150knots,and when it is windy i would guess thats not the easiest job a man can have :D
Looking at the amount of seriously hard landings the A380's have had, I figure a few wont make the 20 year mark on the air frame, so just like the Jumbo some will still be flying past the 30 year mark and some wont..
I find the ongoing debate between who's better Boeing/Airbus to be pointless. Both make excellent aircraft and both are international companies. Both employ Americans and Europeans and a host of other nationalities. Its kind of pointless placing national loyalties on international companies. Those who wish that one would fail and the other attain a sales monopoly, well that will only decrease the quality of the product. Competition creates innovation, quality, and variation.
@MrMaciek2004 Hey....The much bigger AN-225 is a regular visitor to Manchester. By the way we are talking of Manchester International in the UK not Manchester NH in the USA here. Manchester International is a gigantic airport by many standards.
@NumanFsl Really??? AND In my opinion you are an idiot who knows jack shit because Boeing also build planes that use a joystick instead of a yoke. They just happen to be military orientated. If theyre good enough for a military set up then why not civilian also???? Idiot.
@NumanFsl OK then....what i've said is not a correction. You stated "In my OPINION Boeing is much better than AIbus because Airbus used stick to control the plane instead of yoke". Now giving an opinion is one thing but basing it on the most stupid possible reasoning is another. In order not do attract disrespect from other viewers then either (1) Offer well reasoned opinion. OR (2) Say nothing. Some Extremely Intelligent people built that plane and you insulted their intelligence. Understand?
@Neanderthalmanny Well, he actually didn't insult their intelligence. The controls Boeing built on military jets must be joysticks because:
1) They have very small room and a joystick takes less space. (they need space to put other instruments and controls)
2) Flying with a yoke will let you feel the force and it costs much more strength to pull a manoeuvre (or maneuver) than a simple fly-by-wire joystick system.
@winsun96 So if you mention the Space shuttle or C-17 in the same equation are you gonna argue that has little room for a yoke too or that they were taken over by Boeing? This argument was nothing to do with joystick v yoke, it was an American v European dick measuring issue. He DID plainly insult the intelligence of many people...American and European people. Those Airbus aircraft have now clocked up many millions of hours of flight time and have proven no less able than yoke controlled planes.
@Neanderthalmanny I really don't know why so many people hate airbus so much. I personally prefer their narrow body a32x to any variant of the 737 as a passenger, Boeing and airbus make some phenomenal widebodies in my opinion. As a fueller i personally prefer any airbus. Easiest aircraft to refuel, and acm outlet is beside the fuel panel in the widebodies so on a cold day its a significantly less painful experience with the big airbuses. Big boeings? Better have a hot beverage with you.
@nelsonalfanii There are 2. The A380F and the normal A380, the F being the cargo version (with no windows or seats). I'm pretty sad, but I know it because I want to become an airline pilot at 18.
@multidonkey if you ever travelled on this aircraft, you'd know how great it is... can't beat the thing... unless you are an a330 or even crappier 757 afficionado... how long have you worked for Boeing for???
@cazzak123 I'm not questioning how nice the aircraft is. I'm questioning the practicality of it. It's too big and oversized. The wings are cracking and these things will not last that long.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Stupid to make an airplane this big. You can tell with each landing how much stress the wings and the plane itself is taking. These planes will start falling from the sky within a decade.
@MultiDonkey13 The A380 is built to withstand all the pressures of flight and certified to do so by the same agencies that certify your favourite plane, whatever it may be....so chill
@MultiDonkey13 The A380 is built to withstand all the pressures of flight and certified to do so by the same agencies that certify your favourite plane, whatever it may be....so chill
@MultiDonkey13 strange then that airbus can use the same wings on a much heavier and stress prone version they are planing with very limited reinforcment to satisfy the extremes testing works to to ensure such problems are almost impossible in flight.
you say the plane takes a lot of stress but so does the 777 and 747 on landing gear and wings and i havent heard any problems with them falling apart
@MultiDonkey13 not considering they are certified for much much higher weights and trust me if airbus can get then unchanged certified then they are about the safest thing they will make as the test require the wings to bend up by 155% of designed limits. they do flex however that happens daily to all other 1000s of aircraft and none i know of have lost their wings yet. of all parts on an aircraft the wings are the strongest as they do take flight loads and fuel and turbulence.
@MultiDonkey13 you underestimate the strength of the aircraft's wings. the plane's parts will all be used on the -900 (extended length and weight) and freighter (much heavier) variants. AND there was a test done in which a pair of wings were bent all the way up and down to their breaking points
@azlee19 Do you not read descriptions? @Jett203 clearly states that he had second thoughts about uploading this because he thought it was poor filming and stated why. Read before criticising an uploader who usually provides excellent videos.

@poskyflyer 747 does look better, but when you're up in the air, IT SUCKS so bad compared to an a380 14 hours in an a380 feels like 3 hours, while 12 hours on a 747 feels exactly like 12 hours, its nowhere close to a380 when it comes to comfort and enjoyability
@poskyflyer ive been on the 747 kml too and the emirates a380
the 747 was louder, more shaky, and had way less features. ohh and the landing for the a380 was perfect, ive been on 747's a bunch of times and the landings were never even close to the a380's
