why does everyone call him a genius. in my experience, genius's hardly ever have such a thin veil between themselves and their emotions. he was an emotional man, who was incredible at expressing himself. I love the man, and his music is fantastic, but what i think is so great about him is that he was an average joe that could move the masses.

Elliott clearly says "i'd be happy just to be believed from doom to write away" I think he meant to say " be relieved from doom" He did this a lot with longer syllabled words that sounded the same. This was just a demo anyway. He probably changed it 5 more times before the album versiob. Long Live Elliott.

this man knew what was happening to him and the world around him. he knew too much. it's a beautiful hang in between reality, and the real reality. it's a painful split, and he let himself go to the other side.

the line,

"i know what it is i have to do," is, to me, him saying he knows he must do what he did in the end.

the worlds colliding in this version, in my opinion, are life and death. he didn't know which he wanted... and he could see it in his eyes. this man, like i said, knew too much.
