This is an AH-64A, not D model, like a few people have said... The easiest way to tell the difference is the anti-collision light placement. ka50 is the black shark.. and i doubt it. the vikhr missile can be used for air to air  and air to ground, it has more of them and they have a longer range than the stinger. it also packs a gun with multiple types of ammo.

it doesn't matter, the Apache doesn't have stinger missiles. The only thing it needs is that 30 mm cannon which hangs from its nose. That cannon alone could put a T-80 outta its misery, imagine what it could do to a fuselage.....

and the FLIR and TADS can see out for miles and the MMS/FCR can see even further, and even beyond that when the helicopter is linked with a AWACS....what chance do you think a KA50 would have?

actually most apaches no longer have the mounts on the wings, they put new anti-radar equipment there now, and apaches never did have stinger capabilities, the army never bought the hardware or the electronics

wow, good for you, but the birds they fly in iraq are no different than the ones in the states, and even though the mounts are there they were never used, u.s. apaches have never had air to air capabilities. kinda sounds like you're still a little wet behind the ears too, i've been working on this airframe, as well as a few others, long enough to remember encu's, sdc's, and spad pins, back when the logbook was actually a paper book, and you used a device called a pencil to fill it out.

I think the apache is the nicest out of all the attack helicopters. The KA-50 is too bulcky, and the double roterblades spoils it tbh. I rate the looks of the cobra on similar lines of the tiger. Mangustas are quite nice tho. The comanche is pretty stunning tho also. AHH so many choices. I think that its a close call between the Apache and Comanche.

Comanche was canceled (too bad, it was amazing). The KA-50 is very capable and the counter rotating effect eliminates the need for a tail rotor which makes it more efficient
