skykicker1600, the weapon "going off" isn't gonna cause any damage whatsoever to your hand grasping the barrel. There is no better way to control the line of fire than by grabbing the barrel and taking advantage of your superior leverage.

I usually like your methods but i have to say with this technique and with the distance you are forced to close the gap in...if you try this for real...you are likely going to get yourself killed. Now if the gap was smaller and they were actually within a sphere of reasonable response, you might pull it off, but very unlikely in the senerio your video paints.

Fellas. Gun defense in Krav are last-ditch techniques. It's not like the movies, and we all know this. You'll probably get shot up, but the idea is to give yourself even a 1% chance rather than dying without doing anything.

hey guys, the instructor that was teaching the disarm was about 1 yard away, and for any kind of shotgun, there is a 1 inch spread for every yard.  so your somewhat safe. but what happens if the guy with the shotgun knows weapon retention?

the only thing that worries me is if the gun dischrages during the disarm. the person performing the disarm may flinch and give the person holding the gun time to back away. it would be very hard to train someone not to react to the gun blast.

yo dude, u'll get shot... it's a shotgun its bullet might spread and hit you if the guy fires immediately after u grab the barrel. u might wanna turn ur body so ur vertically facing ur enemy, this way it reduces the chance of getting shot. but the hitting after grabbing the gun is beautiful.

as far as i can see, sorry if im wrong , there is no body defense. Meaning out of line of fire. only movement foreward, depending only on the hand defense (redirecting gun)

so instead of just moving foreward ( also in slow example ) also use diagonal sideways step.
