I don't agree with the fact that muslim anti-semitism is the cause of Israel's problems and the main issue to get to a peace accord. Muslims behave just as bad with christians in their territories and christians are not suffering from anti-semitism. I believe the trouble to bring peace is that Qur'an commands for Jihad which is the spread of the "religion" just like the crusades for the christians. Until muslims won't be able to criticize the contents of Qur'an will there be no peace...

Like any state created after WW1 and the defeat ot the Turc Ottoman empire, it was created based on the local population, in order to refrain starting such wars again. Divide to reign as is said. after WW2 the same has been done to Germany when it's been cut in two parts. Because the Arabs did attack Israel, Israel had to annex more land. @HolyStarOfDavid I believe that peace could exist in the world once the muslims will enter their Enlightenment century. It doesn't seem to come very soon because they are not very deep minded. Until that comes they will do their Jihad (crusades) and use sharia law (inquisition). It's just difficult to make them criticize their own religion. Enlightenment can only come from the muslims, the ones that would want to get out of their dark age...

Damascus blood libel.

On February 5, 1840, Franciscan Capuchin friar Father Tomaso and his Greek servant were reported missing, never to be seen again. The French consul Ratti Menton presented the case as one of ritual murder. The Turkish governor Sherif Pasha supported him.

Solomon Negrin, a Jewish barber, was arrested and tortured. He "confessed" under torture that Father Tomaso had been killed in the house of David Harari by seven Jews,

They were arrested and subjected to tortures: their teeth were pulled out, they were burned, beaten, immersed in ice water and forced to stand for 36 hour without food, water or sleep. Joseph Lafiado, a feeble 80 year old man, died under torture. Moses Abalafia converted to Islam. The rest eventually "confessed" to the ritual murder.

To further the case, Sherif Pasha and Ratti Menton arrested a Muslim servant of David Harari and forced him to "confess" that the monk's assistant had been murdered in the presence of the seven Jewish leaders. More Jews were arrested, culminating in 63 Jewish children being held hostage.

Eventually, the case became known throughout the world and involve top leaders of France, Austria, England, Turkey and the USA. Eventually those left alive were released on August 28, 1840. (cont.)
