People really made a big deal out of this story. First, the guy was fifteen and felt attracted to her and went looking for Hanna. So he was perfectly aware of what he was doing. Besides, he wasn`t a 10 yr old kid, come on, at that age he was more than ready to have sex, at least biologically. The point is, that this has happened since ancient times. Women used to get married when they teenagers with men much older than them. And teengers have sex you know? People STOP BEING SUCH PRUDES!

It's really only a crime if she is responsible for any damage done to him. Would he have become that introverted, anti-social person without having met Hannah? Would his relationships; marriage, siblings, daughter have failed without having met Hannah? Or is she the cause of his social detriments? If it is the latter then it is abuse. But if the former, then she carries no guilt for the way he turned out.

You are missing the whole story. There is a gap in a movie - we know nothing about him in period between sommer with hannah, and coledge. He looks very happy then, he seem to forgot. BUT - the fact, the knoledge that he was actually in love with nazi-camp guardian who commited murders - THAT's what made him thisway. It would be no difference if he was older or she was younger.

She only won Best Actress for this role at the Oscars and BAFTA. She won Best Supporting Actress at the Golden Globes and SAG for this role. She did however also win Best Actress at the Globes for Revolutionary Road.
