hey dude what kind of editing do you do on your vocals? any form of autotune or is this all natural? coming from one home studio guy to the next, your vocals are always flawless and was wondering what kind of mixing you do to them. great job as usual, get back to me

@JoshBaumgardner Hey Josh! Yeah, there's actually a lot of work I do to my vocals. First I throw them through a dynamics processor. Then they go through an automatic tuner. I get really close, but this makes everything spot on, which is especially important for getting harmonies to "shimmer."

There are always a handful of notes that slip through the cracks or (over/under) corrected to the wrong note, so I have to go back and fix those by hand, which is a process I've worked hard on over time. This usually takes a few days, since I don't notice every flaw in my pitch until a million listens. But it's SO worth it. After that I do some EQing and reverb and thats it. Oh, and doubling is huge. In the chorus you're hearing 2 separate lead vocals, and 2 backing vocals panned to each side.
