I like both power electronics and indie-type noise myself. To be fair, many of the indie-types do like power electronics..althogh obviously most do not. Slogun was ok although the vocals and electronics could've been mixed better. Stegm and Grunt gave the best PE performaces at the fest, IMHO.
I live in Cleveland and when I went to see Bloodyminded and Whitehouse (two separate shows)..most of the crowd at both shows were indie types. They're not all bad...most are cool.
How do you correctly choose between artnoise "fags" and regular "legit" noise fans/performers? That's something I'd like answered. Though I doubt I'll receive one since your comment was posted two years ago.
I'll stand with my arms crossed. I saw Bastard Noise in 07 and recently saw Pedestrian Deposit, and I didn't move around because the kind of sound they were putting out wasn't one you would "mosh" to, and I was probably more excited to see both of them than anyone else there was. If it's harsh noise like Slogun, where there's a lot going on in the sound, I'd see that as a reason to move around and not stand there like a petrified tree. People's reactions are going to all be subjective.
