If you were to compare rhythmic gymnast year 1998 with 2012. If the flexibility stretching for rhythmic gymnast in 1998 was already painful (I know because i was a rhythmic gymnast once for 5 years), and some professionals still couldn't get that 180 degrees standing split. But if you were to look at the girls constant over bendy body and 190 degrees standing split rhythmic routine in the 2008 Beijing Olympic....... 'no comment'..
How did I end up here? I was watching pointe videos........:(
I personally think this is a beautiful sport and I wish I could do the flexibility training to improve my own flexibility for my classes but I don't since I have contemporary and ballet training almost everyday of the week.
Ps: my friend is a competitive acrobat and I was talking to her about Rhythmic Gymnastics and she said it was a disgrace to gymnastics. Don't take it out on me, my friend's words not mine
i do artistic gym and every time i see rg routines, i become speechless, what they do is amazing, i wish i was able to do some of the things these girls for a warm up!
i have so much respect for the sport because i see and know how hard they work
@mabskill1021, yes you can do it at home, just be careful you can seriously injure yourself that way. I do rhythmic gymnastics and if I dont warm up properly i pull my muscle. My favorite gymnasts in general are Arina and Dina Averina (Russia) they're 13 year old twins who are amazing!
you should really do this sport! it is such an amazing sport! but the training is very tough, you have to be committed 100 percent of the time, the training can be very VERY painful but in the end its totally worth it. I'm a level 10 rhythmic gymnast and this sport is like no other, really you should get involved in such an awesome sport
@LaMiticaPidi rlly? My rhythmic gymnastics costs 3,800$ a year! but thts probably cuz im on a team..but what i recommend, is that you go and take 1 or 2 classes. oe maybe even a month if u can. then, what you do in class, practice on at home. youtube doesn't show most of the things we do to dtrengthen up, like things called "overtoes", relevee, and other stuff.(:
Whats the title of this song? I like it.
