When I was a boy, my pentacostal parents caught me playing the music of a fucking genuis named Ken Tamplin. Since I got away with playing Blue murder and Satriani, its a no brainer that their decision was based on the fact that Tamplin said he was a christian artist. Christian rock at the time was more frowned upon than say Motley crue. Is this the same guitarist?

Yea, this guy backstabbed other Christian brothers while on tour. His drummer never got paid much, while Tamplin took most of the money on his mickey mouse tour. Funny, Tamplin hurt a lot of Christian players, by talking behind their backs.
