  • Thanks for posting. John would be pleased. He devoted his life to his art. It is so sad that today's "country" music is produced by marketing executives and not musicians. Johnny Paycheck is timeless. He will live on as long as those of us (who know country music) remember his journey.

  • Welcome back, old Friend. Even if it was for just one more song.

  • Check out him singing this on family Reunion on you tube

  • There was only one Paycheck!. There will never be another one. This was when Country was "Country"

  • No dislikes...that's when you KNOW you've gotta good one! :)

  • The best & most heart-felt collabration of Paycheck we have seen yet. Tears are still in my eyes. Thanks Alot. Kenny Brent (JP's lead for a few years in the 1970's). Bless You.

  • Nothing better for mind, body and soul.

  • I had the opportunity to open a show for Johnny...in Huntington Tn. right after he got out of prison...he was some kind of great singer songwriter...I also had the priviledge to attend his funeral....sing with the angels you old violin......

  • @RockabillyRicky not to be a "downer"--who could after listening to that--I was singing at the top of my lungs...but to add even more context to JP -he died broke--penniless..George Jones "arranged" his funeral. What a master at pulling you into a song! RIP JP

  • Awesome. I'm totally melted. Johnny does that to me, but this song especially.

  • Great Song my opinion Johnny is the best song writer in country music

  • My god thats one of those songs that jerks a tear from your eyes and demands attention. You sure as hell dont find that in "country" anymore.

  • Just like a legend to sing a song with meaning that relates to life. Thanks for the memories Johnny.

  • i would love to have a chance to see one concert in my life the perfect one paycheck cash

  • This man played with the best of them ... good little singer" George Jones said" Also paid for his funeral too... Johnny died broke. Check out a songwriter /singer named Billy Don Burns... from Arkansas Very interesting life lived up close and personal to paycheck and others... Around 58/59 yrs old . billy don burns is the name...

  • This Is Great,Just Awesomeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • This one still gives me chills when I hear it.

  • Wow, couldnt put it any better.

  • Just a legend.

  • I saw him in Vegas at the Silverbird in 70's. He could write with the best of them, Haggard, Willie etc.

He died alone in a nursing home a few years ago, underrated. He was a true outlaw, screw Willie, he wasn't a real outlaw at the end.

  • Look up a singer songwriter named Billy Don Burns... check out this man...

  • I love this song so much. I heard it a while back and can't seem to stop listening to it.

  • I look at this Video and I see all the greats that have left us. Johhny Russell, Del Reeves, Billy Walker, and Johnny Paycheck. Whos gonna Fill there shoes?? We have country singers, but not with the character these guys displayed. Thanks for the memories Guys

  • One of the best. Miss you Johnny, may you rest in peace.

  • Yes Sir, I agree.......

  • one of the many things i love about Mr.Paycheck is that every time he sings he puts his whole heart and soul in it. R.I.P Mr.Paycheck

  • thank you for a great tribute to the great johnny paycheck, thanks countrygerry1

  • This video shows that whether he was performing on stage, or in a very informal setting he sang from his heart and his timing was awesome. I would like to see some video from his early days.

  • Great song.

  • back in april i was in nashville' and i went to see where john was laid to rest'there's a piece of ground all to it's self with no other markers around it. to me tho it seemed kind of fitting'because john was some what of a loner

  • May he rest ... I love this guy... from the beginning... 1971/72. What a voice... never lost it either... I miss him.

  • i;VE HEARD THIS SONG MANT TIMES , EACH TIME IT REMINDS ALL THE DAYS ARE NUMBERED FOR ALL.

  • Are days on earth are numbered... see you up there Mr. Paycheck... looking forward to it.

  • I'm not sure what album it's on. The song is called Old Violin. I didn't even know the song until a few months ago when I heard it on the radio and had to have it. I got it off limewire...

  • What album is this on I am guessing its called old violin but what year is it. I have a lot of paycheck on my comp but I have this nowhere and i must have it

  • He originally recorded this track on album called Modern Times on the Mercury label. He re-recorded it on an album entitled The Difference In Me, I think this was on the Playback label. Please more JP videos.
