  • It's to be time for US to import BOVA FHD buses with a DAF engine.

  • In Portugal, that type of buses, can costs, with taxes and referents, $1,000,000!

  • This bus is used on purpose during Manny Pacquiao's fights in Las Vegas and Arlington, TX (near Dallas) for charter service.

This bus was notably used for chartering his team from Los Angeles to Las Vegas for his bout against Oscar Dela Hoya (Dec '08), Ricky Hatton (May '09) and Miguel Cotto (Nov '09).

This was also used for charter service in Arlington, TX for Pacman's fight against Joshua Clottey in March 2010 and Antonio Margarito in November of that year.

  • Great for long-distance trips!

  • I like this bus, although in Winnipeg where I live, I can only see this bus (Setra S417) on occasional basis, especially during summer months, specifically during it's multi-cultural festival in August, called Folklorama.

  • Actually Setra is now installing a European built Mercedes engine utilizing the Detroit name plate calking it the DD13

  • Oh yeh, the yanks are so smart (american accent). That's why they power their Setras with American shite. I'll keep my european Setra. Thanks.

  • tha backside looks like the of a new MAN Lion's Coach

  • Setra is the best :) Fan of Poland

  • The north-American Setras, are equipment with seatbelts?

Wow, the S417 are very beautiful... It´s a Setra, it´s beautiful, EVER.

This evening, i´m published a video response of european version: the Setra S417HDH.

    Great videos!!! hanks!!!

  • Guess what: Mercedes is following the lead for your euro "environment" standards and building 12 litre straight 6 cylinders engines. The same as Volvo, Scania and yes Detroit. Caterpillar have the 13 litre, Cummins the 11 or 14 litre options. No More V8's. While they hard torque, they didn't have parts durability and the cylinders and intercoolers leaked badly.

I like to see how long a once piece glued windscreen lasts before it cracks. Also how much it costs to replace!!! Profit>Toilet

  • The Setra S-431 DT double decker still has that big Mercedes V8. That why I hope that do not bring the S-431 to the state, because I think we would mess it up, by replacing that big V8 with some small 6 cylinders engine.

  • You can tell how Setra redesigned the vehicles for Nth American use: minimum overhang front and back. ONLY Detroit Diesels or other USA sourced engine (designed for the highway and not to live in the workshop). Maximum bin space, no 2nd pax door intruding into the bin space and integrated a/c NOT on the roof. Also 2 piece windscreen. None of this 1 piece "fit it and half an hour later it's cracked again".

North American operators are smart: Keep european drivelines out of the USA & Canada!!!

  • What you want with the small 6 cylinders Detroit Diesel? I think you have never heard the great sound of a Mercedes

V8 Truck and Bus Engine. And Mercedes Motors are the Best on World and they was designed for the German Autobahnen and not for old US and Australian Mud Roads!

  • German and European Versions have usally a second door in the middle of the bus and only Mercedes Motors from 435 to 471 PS (HP). The douple-decker of 400 series (S 431 DD) have a Mercedes

V8 16 Litres Engine with 503 PS (HP)

  • Last year when my ship pulled into Marseilles France, our ship chartered a Bova Futura for a trip to Paris. On the road a S 431 DD was passing by us with a tailer behind it. THAT S 431 DD WAS REALLY HAULING BUT! With a 16 litre V8, I see why it was going so fast.

    Thank You for the info.

  • GLASS ROOFTOP!?!?!?! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW? and $500,000, now dats a good price

  • whats the asking price for the babes?
