If the majority of the Tibetian people which to become independent, China should respect this. But we shouldn't expect much from a Communist state.
@Thai99time999 But I could present you with other examples: Angola and Mozambique, were Portuguese ultramarine provinces in the 70's - they were middle developed. They wanted independence (which they were given after 10 years of war). And damn, they deserved it. Was it for the best? The PLA liberated the Tibetans from enslavement, and the brutality of the monks. Most Tibetans were owned as slave labor to a small band of elitists. China has no slave labor. Where do you people come up with this shit? I support the gains of the Chinese Revolution that liberated China from imperialist rape, and was extended to the Tibetan people. Ever wonder why "his holiness" doesn't call for a "Free Tibet" anymore?

Despite claims that he was a member of the Sturmabteilung (stormtroopers) this was declared false by Harrer in his memoir Beyond Seven Years in Tibet, as he points out that, if already a member he wouldn't have had to apply to join the Nazi Party (NSDAP) when he joined the SS where he held the rank of Oberscharführer (Sergeant). Harrer joined the SS in order to pursue his career in skiing and mountaineering. ---->

Cutting and pasting from wikipedia only makes you look like a fool. After Nazi crimes became known, everyone in the SS said they joined for any reason other than Nazi ideology. Bring on the violins. In the lists of his more substantial works you find nothing about Tibet, nothing about Buddhism, very little concerning Asia at all. The Tiananmen Square Massacre was a crime of the CCP bureaucracy under Deng Xiaoping against Chinese workers and students revolt. Most of those protesters did not want to overturn the Chinese Revolution for capitalism, just oust the bureaucrats. Protesters were heard singing The International. Take the case of Yu Dongyue who smeared paint on Mao's portrait, and was turned over to the police by students.

I am for an independent Tibet. Someday we will all learn to be peaceful like the Tibetan monks.
However, when Tibet was independent, the life expectancy was 15 years shorter. Once Tibet is freed, they would have to have better care.

The people of a state are free to leave the United States if they want. The Tibetans on the other hand are not free the leave China. Yes, Tibet was a feudal state, but that is no excuse to invade a nation. Maoism has used Marxism to commit imperialism against Tibet.
The PRC is a nest of social fascists, ruled by a party that has betrayed Marxism. Tibetans should decide in a democratic referendum about their position. But since they are oppressed by a totalitarian state that is impossible.

Tibet was a feudal state that practiced slavery, taxation of serfs for births, deaths, weddings, funerals; slave labor, floggings, amputations, etc. The PLA liberated the Tibetan masses from this barbaric system. The Dalai Lama has even admitted fraternization was frequent between Tibetans and PLA troops. In 1959, when the monks revolted, CIA chief Bruce Walker said his goons had no luck in winning support from Tibetans. The slave system of the Dalai Lama will not return.
