  • I don't get it. I thought sensational headlines sold better.

  • Fairly typical of the Daily Fail, I'm afraid.

  • Thanks for this. Compassion seems to have it's limits for the mainstream media. They've been quoting the number of 13 dead quite regularly in the media here in Australia! Our rulers have interests in propping up the junta, whatever they are forced by public opinion to say. Viva independent journalism! Peace to you.

  • For more details and an extended version of my assertion about media spin on Burma, please read my article at: tinyurl-dot-com/yrbgec

  • What are u talking about? U should check the official web sites like CNN ROUTER RFA and BBC.

Since the military junta is controlling the media in Burma, there may not accurate number. But if u check the CNN BBC and RFA, u will see a lot of true stories and interviews. No body know the exact number except the junta. Please don't confuse the Burmese the community.

  • But why not report the sources of estimates rather than harping on about the 10 or is it 13 the junta cites. In nearly every story, the super-low junta estimates are given very first of all, then the "moderate" estimates of 200 "or more". But here we have a defected general who was in charge of Rangoon, and they actually write him out of a story lede and rewire the URL to obscure this.

  • great work, ive seen things like this before

    the media is corrupt

    never trust them
