yeah its a powerfull card by itself for sure.i tried crysis 2 running 1 core on max settings and got around 35fps..with both cores the fps runs at a sexy 65+ fps.also i bet you get quite alot of slow down in the water stages on Dirt 2 if you run it at max settings

if i had the choice i would have used proper music but everytime i do it gets blocked and about the ram slots not being used..6GB is more than enough for now..absolutely nothing runs slow on this PC..say what you like but ive always wanted to build my own powerfull PC and i think i done a pretty good job for my 1st try..i7 FTW

@ryanmelv If you want to use a song, open it with a program and either slow down up speed up the song by min 2% and resave it keeping the slight pitch shift and time difference. Works like a charm, My only complaint is you never used Nvidia, this pc would be a hell of alot better video editing with the cuda cores backing it up. Gaming machine, i'm still a hardcore nvidia fan. So i'm bias :P

I tried getting the Gainward vid card and it seems Gainward stopped making any ATI cards so no more video card support!

I have two 2x4870X2 with danger den water blocks to minimize the heat, that card gets too hot with 2 processors on it, thats why it is a 3 slot cooling solution (w/ith 2 many darn fans)

it does get a bit hot.running at 61C idle right now..but compared to my last radeon thats quite cool,my old radeon 9800xt got as hot as 100C playing games..atleast this 4870x2 has a huge heatsink and fan that speeds up as it gets hotter..anyone else have a 4070x2,what temps you getting?

yeh,running at 3.60ghz atm just by changing the multiplier.ive had it higher but never really pushed it as there is totally no need right now

yeah running over 2,8 ghz with a quad core is not gonna impact your fps in games. so no need for overclocking more right now.

well programs are running faster and loading time reduses. but i have mine on 3,6 as well. got the 920.

have you ever tryed to put your pc to sleep mode when i do, it goes to sleep no problem but whan i wake it up again it tryes but fail, so it go to hibernate. when i press the "on button" again it starts up as i left it so hibernate works, but sleep does not it goes to hibernate instet basicly hibernate takes way longer to start another problem is when i disconect the power to the psu it wont start the first time. it says OC fail i just restart and it works do you have same problem

For a while i had problems with sleep mode,when i told it to sleep it would shut of the monitor but the pc would stay on..i tried a few things that never worked then all of a sudden it started working..maybe a windows update or a bios update fixed the problem..i would try updating your motherboard bios if you havent already and run windows update. search google,you should find plenty of relevant pages if updating doesnt work

i updatad the bios, and the sleep problem was gone. ^^

but i stil have problems with the psu. (only if OC'ed)

i'll try to explane it agin. i had to do it short corz of only max 500 characters.

when i remove the power cord to my psu so the computer 100% do not use any power. when i turn it on again, i get an bson (black screen of nothing) then i restart the beast and i get this error message. "OC fail" i press F1 to enter bios and hit "save and exit" then it will boot.

do you have same problem.

No.The Hard drives are not fried at all.running perfectly for nearly 12 months now..if anything the massive cooler on the 4870x2 will be keeping the HDD cooler than they would be anyway.Anyway if it was a problem i could have used the HDD cage

i detected a flaw in the motherboard design. If u wanna SLI u will have to sacrifice one of the PCI slot. That means you have to use a PCI-e soundcard. U can't get a creative soundcard because most of them are too long to fit. Any solutions anyone?

The HD4890 ain't a bad choice, it can compete with the GTX285. So it isn't a bad card, but I would recommend the HD4890 vapor-x or HD4890 toxic, both from Sapphire. Nice and silent cards. The HD4890 vapor-x have a slight overclock compared to standard cards AND a nice silent cooler when you are idle. The HD4890 toxic is almost the same as the vapor-x (silent cooler etc.) but this one has been more overclocked. How much? Look on the site ;).

I would get 2 of those if it is possible of course :P.
