  • Are there tabs available for this song?

  • very cool : )

  • Glad I dicovered you. First viewed you do "Brandy", have mercy. Do you do any Howard Roberts covers? I would love to get started on "Smokin'", but its not out there that i can find. As for sheet music, I've got Mel Bays Howard Robert's collection, but no really good cuts from "HR is a Dirty..:

  • hi @machaerodus

thanks for the comment. i too have the h.r. book, and it is a great resource, although i have picked up a few small errors here and there, which is inevitable, i guess. with that said, i've had a lot of fun with the book. on my own i've figured out bits and pieces of stuff i've dug, but only a few complete tunes. i did 'a taste of honey' with my old trio, and might post it one day. h.r' was incredible, and those albums are a lot of fun.

  • amaziiiiiiiinnng

  • Way cool very blusey,John would be proud, loved it!!!

  • thanks, cast. i still haven't heard from him, but i suspect he's pretty busy......

  • damn right

  • Very nice! Liked the alternating bass line and it had a good 'chime' sound to it. Sounded like a 'delta' blues almost. THX for your post, enjoyed it a lot.

  • thanks rk

yeah, for a bay area kid, fogerty definitely got the blues on. the tone.....the rig helps!

  • Very Cool version-I like what you do on the C change.

  • very nice, i got the electromatic with the red face and black back. its aright, could use some new pickups but i don't know were to get hollow body pickups, they don't sell them anywhere. this was good though, deffinetly a tune you need to play with those shades on ; )

  • thanks airnsmke

i've played those. nice guitars for the money. you might look at duncan, dimarzio or even gretsch. they're a weird size, but someone must make them....

i always credit the shades to howard roberts, #1 on my all time list.

  • ooo sos un capo,,,

  • great playing 5 stars, is your guitar a gretsch chet atkins?

  • thanks, wh. it's actually a 6120N (Nashville), only made for two years.....wtf??? has a center block, sharp horn. otherwise the same as the 6120.

  • Wish I could finger pick like that, Nice Job,very interesting rendition.

  • Too much work, original and creative. Sounds great, congrats

  • Great sound. Very much like Tony Jo White.

  • Great job, sounds good! Wish I could get my thumb to do the Chet Atkins deal, I have to cheat it with a flat pick. Very cool.

  • thanks rd. i never really got comfortable with the flatpick...always dropping it. plus i can get to my controls easier......

  • Loved evertying about the guitar, sound and I would like to see you play more again.

  • Mr. Fogarty would be proud! Awesome rendition,

  • thanks dewey

i haven't heard from him yet, but i assume he's pretty busy. i played a lot of his tunes as a kid and owe him a thanks.......

  • nice change up on some of that stuff. soulfull!

  • This just oozes quality. Can't get enough. Five stars.

  • sweet stuff,just love it.

  • wow just wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • awsomeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • gah i wish i could play as good as you, how long have you been playing for?

  • Long enough that I should be better! I started at 7, in 1967, with a local teacher, and just stayed with it. But really, I'm a fan at heart. Love listening to everything, but my faves are the old jazz guys, the classic rock guys, and the Chet style pickers. So many tunes, so little time....

  • wow! uhhhh you have me by quite a bit.... subtract 1 year and thats how manny! lol

  • great man---- where you was born ??

you can play of the hollies ,beatles or

ccr but under the original music playing

i think that will be better ....good job man

i waiting for the riff from tombstone shadow i hope see you playing this song thanks

  • born in nyc. i have posted some originals, but the most hits are the covers. name recognition i guess. lot of originals on my cds as well. those seem to get more downloads, not sure why.

  • I liked it too...and we use to play that song together in 1972!

    Great googly moogly.....lol

  • Yeah, we got a lot of mileage out of Creedence. Great stuff. We grew up in the middle of the greatest rock music....

  • for the rateing 5 out of 5 stars

  • Thanks T&M. very cool of you. This has been a lot of fun and motivating for me at a time when I'm not gigging much. Live Long and Prosper.

    JL

  • =) very good! sounds just like off the cd, just slightly slower, but great 5/5

  • Thanks T&M. I've never really worked out a lot of 'stuff' on this one. Just kind of play it like this at gigs and it seems to find it's own groove. Some tunes just play themselves. (B.t.w....what is 5/5?)
