SPOILER ALERT basically helene (Keira's character) writes a letter in Japanese to her husband, saying 'if it concerns your happiness, not hesitate for a moment to forget this woman who now says, without a hint of regret, farewell' but he thinks it's from the asian woman he cheated on her with and it's first read out by a Japanese woman in France whom he asks to translate it

I saw this movie and i think that has almost 2 hours, and, i, swear, i believe that this movie has only 15 minutes. It happened so quickly. They entertained myself with the amazing photography ever, with the subtle gorgeous face of Keira and the history of course. it's just 6 stars ^^

Maybe if you had, you would realize there's more complexity to the story than just lust / romance. Now, if you've only seen the movie, I can't blame you, because it seems the movie doesn't do justice to its source material.

first off, it is obvious from the trailer (and probably the back of the dvd case, if you rented/purchased) that this story involves an illicit love affair. if you find that type of thing indecent or offensive, don't watch the movie?
second, if you are a fan of Micheal Pitt, you should check out The Dreamers. Good film, if you aren't a prude. ;)

One of the worst movie i have ever seen!
What is this? Love? Cmon, his face is dull and insipid all the time i couldnt sense any romance between Helene and Herve. Some sexual scenes are inappropriate!
And all i could feel from the Japanese girl was nothing but her sexual look for Herve - u can see the in the trailer.
The whole movie left me nothing but a shallow love!

I didn't finish watching it because the stupid romance with the foreign girl got me really pissed off. There's nothing I hate more than cheating. The beginning was really good, but when the guy got to Japan, it started looking like an Anime fanatic sexual fantasy.

i didn't like this movie at all. it seemed slow and i kept thinking 'huh?' the entire time. i just didn't get it. i was very disappointed i kept thinking how glad i was it was over.

I borrowed this movie on DVD last night
And it was very very strange, it was like nothing in it made sense, I was just sitting there like, "What?!"
I mean it was ok, I like Keira, but like it just was like one of those movies that you have to sit there and figure out yourself what is going on.
And that Japanese girl was just like creepy!!
It was actually really stupid when I think about it!

This is one of the most beautiful movies I ever saw. The photography is so well crafted that it makes words unnecessary. The imagery is the dialogue.

I'm really sorry u feel that way...I from Puerto Rico so I grew up watching Mexican novellas, and of course love them still do, I believe physically and culturally mexico is beautiful but I also watch Asian novellas which btw I'm addicted 2 now and I also believe they are so beautiful in more ways then one! can't we all just get along with out posting negative comments of other countries!
