Revisionism is always the clearest sign of the weakness of religion. It says a person has freedom in the first place to believe or not to believe (such and absurd statement, considering the counterpart is eternal suffering (2:257)); this is not the same as those who abandon Islam (apostasy).
That innate sense of right and wrong has evolved. It's part of our genetics, and has nothing to do with god.
