  • He was great. A man ahead of his time.

  • Just cutting away from Frank for a minute, who else loves Larry King in this? Find me five news men today willing to sit down, hear, and discuss someone's opinion in a rational manner, even if they may differ from it.(Not saying Larry does, can't tell - but either way, the guy is respectful, and if he agrees, he makes a try at playing devil's advocate) It's a shame we've replaced a legend like Larry with someone like Piers Morgan.

  • @gibusgamer93 True. Even as an Englishman I liked King. Cannot stand Morgan!

  • That's larry king? Weird!

  • Frank was a true genius, It's funny that no agency has ever had such a stance on rap music. Some rap songs go far beyond what they were trying to suppress in the 1980's, and nobody says shit. Frank is probably spinning in his grave..

  • @utica714 I think he'd be laughing and, alternately, shaking his head. Breaking free of the nonsensical legislation of morality was what he was all about, and seeing that largely realized would make him a happy man. What's being DONE with that freedom... well, can't imagine he'd be very happy.

... talk about prescient about the religious conservatives trying to take over, though.

  • It's so unfair that Zappa is dead

  • I'd love to see a 71 year old FZ assraping Bill O'Reilly on live television.

  • Frank was a fucking genius. Never be another like him.

  • Man... He and Bill Maher together would make some real damage. We need more guys like them

  • Fuck Society !

  • @MalakiaRat So what you are saying is that Ron Paul is actually FOR socialized-health-care, as was Frank Zappa, and all of Paul's talk about community charity is admitted BS?!?!?

  • @MalakiaRat derp

  • You notice that after Frank said "Don't watch a TV show with a phone number at the bottom", the phone number wasn't shown when they went to commercial?

Also, Larry is wearing a brown vest, presumably going with a brown suit - but he isn't smiling too much. Funny coincidence.

  • "Never bend over for a Christian." - Frank Zappa, 1985

    ... Talk about foresight.

  • Preach Frank Preach.. vote Frank for president of the whole world.

  • Frank got a little uptight in his old age. Good thing HE wasn't attempting to use the political and mainstream news apparatus to push HIS own agenda. He really should've unclinched and stopped being such a hypocrite. "Live and let live" frankie - oops, that's right, you're a fucking leftist, you don't know how.

  • @LightninBoyHopkins He wasn't a leftist, he was a practical conservative. As he says in The Real Frank Zappa Book "I would like to see a smaller government and lower taxes. What, you too?"

  • @garmonbozia318 Frank Zappa in anger just exposed exactly the same self righteous legalistic hypocrites that Jesus Christ exposed.

  • @LightninBoyHopkins Actually he just exposed hypocrites like John Lennon and people using their self righteous religious motives for their own high power and greed.

  • @BBQFanNo1 love for one another ,peace and the abolishing of inequity, you call these things self righteous? he clearly states in the song ,imagine "no religion too". you are ignorant of the facts or have a personal agenda against john.

  • @Lonesomeswan Opinions :)

  • @Lonesomeswan But God isn't necessarily real, people are just afraid of whats after and can't take life because they don't have control of they're own brain. Thats the "sorry but true".

  • "Never bend over for a christian"

  • Zappa knew about the nwo!!

  • Frank Zappa and Stanley Kubrick were probably the only ones on showbiz to go beyond so called normal behavior. It's really fucked up. We need some more guys.

  • Frank thinks fast.

  • King kinda looks like Bill gates.

  • Television was once the place for intelligence and analysis and presenters` who could do both....now it`s all froth and superficial nonsense....so the next time you see the `Beautiful Presenter` interviewing the `Beautiful Pop Star` turn it off because they are trying to stop you thinking or to sell you stuff you don`t need and didn`t know you even wanted!

  • Larry King is the ugliest person i have ever seen. How did he get on television?

  • @kellycharlebois Wow, are you a shallow fuck....maybe it has something to do with talent?

  • Oh Frank, i miss you so much...Thks for everything

  • I never realized that Larry King wore a rug

  • Zappa was very well spoken.

  • Larry ling ? never knew he was asian

  • hey its neck bologna and freemasonic muffler.

  • Frank really showed these guys about how to protect children. From what Ive seen of Ahmet, Dweezil, and Moon Unit, they seem to be the most clear-headed children of celebrities in America.

  • @darkalleyheroes YES, you are very correct, my friend. ALL FOUR of his children are smart, well educated, socially graceful, polite. I had the pleasure of interviewing Dweezil when I was 17 years old. It was the first interview I ever did on the radio and he saw that I was nervous. He was so nice and accommodating and considerate to my lack of experience and expertise. He put me at ease. I've since had the pleasure meeting Moon and Ahmet. They are also the nicest people in the world.

  • @darkalleyheroes Except for their names...

  • At 3:17 it looks like Larry is thinking: "Omg.. this guy is talkting alot of B-S. This is America and stuff like that doesnt happend. "

  • Is it my imagination , or is Larry giving Mr. Frank Zappa a hard time?

  • damn this guy born old lol

  • Amazing, we need his voice today!

  • I am a rock and roller father and my daughter listens to hip hop and rap music, I can see where the PMRC is coming from in the area of what my daughter listens to but I would never tell her what she can listen to because I was young once too. So all in all, Zappa was totally right on all counts. He was a musical wizzard, RIP

  • Zappa was way ahead of his time - I wish he was still around to be a thorn in Fox News' side!

  • its wasnt only republicans. the PMRC was run by Tipper Gore's, a democrat, wife of Al Gore, a democrat, and Al Gore ran the congressional committee where Zappa, Dee Snider, and John Denver testified to fight blatant censorship like this.

  • An amazing Frank Zappa Quote "Never bend over for a Christian".

  • Now days I've noticed that country music is over the top when it comes to being suggestive and down right nasty. Gotta love gettin' a little mud on the tires doncha think?

  • "Check mailing nincompoops". We all miss Franks unique brand of irreverence.

  • Frank Zappa SHOULD have been president in the US of A!

  • I see Frank Zappa but who is that other dude? lol

  • this was an awesome video! Frank Zappa said it perfectly

  • I'm very far to the left and generally don't believe in any kind of censorship (though it is kind of frightening to think of a 12 y.o. stumbling across some of the shit I've seen on this site - and I'm not talking about language or garden variety porn). But I'm not sure how a warning to parents about the content of an album qualifies as censorship. I agree that it's ultimately the parents' responsibility, but should they have spend $18 on a CD and take it home...

  • ...in order to find out that it's got lyrics about throwing a bitch up against the wall and taking her from behind if they don't want their kid listening to that (something I'd think most sane parents wouldn't want being drilled into their 13 y.o.'s head).

And why is it so different than movie ratings, which people have accepted all along and even seem to appreciate?

  • What's with all the dissing of Larry here?? He conducted a good interview. He challenged him; exactly what an interviewer is supposed to do - especially on a controversial subject. I suppose you guys would have done a better job with your "Oh Frankie, I love you to pieces, I've dreamt of meeting you my whole life. What's it like to be the most beloved genius on the face of the planet? I agree with every word that comes out of your mouth. I'll suck your cock if you want me to. Please, may I?"

  • Zappa was sooo far ahead of his time he saw it coming 25 years ago...

  • i had the honor to rehearse with frank in 1979. although i didn't make the band....the music as any zappa alumni will attest to is incredibly difficult, but he gave me a good stab at it and chad ended up playing with him at the time. chad was a wonderful player for Franks music. My comment just is about what a nice, gracious wonderful human being he was,

  • How right his predictions for hte USA were.....

  • He's like the uncle I never had.

  • Larry King is an IDIOT!

  • @craigrichardellioott Actually, of the interviews I just watched, I thought Larry asked the more interesting questions and got the most out of him.

  • "If you see a man in a brown suit smiling too much, that's very dangerous"

  • Larry King....a bleeding heart who hasnt a clue as to interviewing because to his own admission he does no research on his guests. What a dick.

  • 2/20/2011 TOP 2 comments about Larry??

FKK larry and listen to FRANK

  • hah-"never bend over for a christian".

  • hah-"never bend over for a christian"

  • Zappa makes some great points here, especially when he mentions how angry Jesus got at the people in the temple.

  • "let's sniff coke kids... not!"

  • @NerfedToDeath--missing the point completely. Listen to this vid again and then again, again and maybe you'll get the bigger points being made.

  • Frank could see the future..

  • why wouldnt Frank Zappa defend NAMBLA as free speech ?

  • God, I forgot that Larry King once knew how to conduct an interview,

  • captain beefheart say hello to your good friend francesco

  • frank had a little bald spot in back...go figure.

  • Damn Zappa! He is good...

  • Honestly u tube I thinkmu have uaknpw joined ascribed what ever

  • Where are the suspenders?

  • @SnugglySara

    Under his sweater :-)

  • "Father of future stars- Frank Zappa!"

    Truer words, never spoken.

  • I like Frank's warning label :)

  • Frank Zappa should be larry king...from now on

  • I voted for Frank once as a write -in for President once. I may just do it again. Hell, he's a better candidate dead than most of the living.

  • @probrojeffro not most but all!!!!!!!!!!

  • Damn, I never knew Larry was ever that young. And talk about the odd couple. Ha!

  • Larry King is a grade A moron

  • @pretorious700 What the fuck's wrong with all of you people? He conducted a good interview. He challenged him; exactly what an interviewer is supposed to do - especially on a controversial subject. I suppose you guys would have done a better job with your "Oh Frankie, I love you to pieces, I've dreamt of meeting you my whole life. What's it like to be such a beloved genius - I agree with everything that comes out of your mouth. I'll suck your cock if you want me to."

  • Mr. King's hair-do is a little bit phallic. Could you blur that out for me I don't want my kids to see that.

  • man i wish i could have called and talked to him!!

  • PMRC + AL + Tipper Gore were Republicans ? Wish he knew facts and not paranoid delusions. Sad...

  • wow this man is genius

  • Zappa was the nicest, most soft spoken missed of person I've every seen. Total class act.

  • @dangerics gone way way too soon

  • @dangerics You must be kidding, right? Have you listened to what this man has gone on record to say, about other musicians?

  • @pulmon66 Yes I have. He's said some vile things about a lot of people, not just musicians. That has nothing to do with what I said. Watch his interviews. He always speaks intelligently and respectfully to and about people with whom he disagrees.

The stuff he says about other musicians is exactly his point in this interview. He has the right to say those things but not the right to silence them. They have the same right to speak ill of him.

  • @dangerics

"He's said some vile things about a lot of people, not just musicians."

" He always speaks...respectfully to and about people with whom he disagrees."

Of which of these two statements would like to claim ownership? Because I'm not lettin' ya have both of 'em.

  • @2PinkFreuds Gee, out of context much? Read the entire comment AND listen to what he says in the interview and I'll keep them both, thank you very much.

  • @dangerics I did and I still don't see how I'm taking it out of context. I mean it's not a very long comment - the two statements are in the same paragraph, separated by two other very short and insignificant sentences that don't add to the context.

So explain the context that I'm apparently missing in which they do not thoroughly contradict each other. Is there some way he can say vile things about someone, yet still speak respectfully about that person? Are we just talking semantics here?

  • Im sorry but larry looks like a perve there.

  • @Guitarstring187 there? try anywhere

  • @Guitarstring187 agreed

  • @Guitarstring187 haha and he doesn't now? I think he just put the finishing touches on divorce # 7

  • @Guitarstring187 I know..kinda turns me on;-)

  • @Guitarstring187 So does Frank, no?

  • his voice... <3

  • Frank, we all miss you and your genius.

  • Frank Zappa is dead . Michael Bolton lives . There is no fucking justice. RIP FZ

  • You know what's a good argument for this discussion? Should we put parental advisory stickers on religious texts? Most of them, the Bible obviously inclusive, use vulgar imagery and violence/death, etc .. So... since those are the things which supposedly justify censorship and adherence to backwards Christian morals, why shouldn't the same argument be made about their preferred method or medium; their religious texts.

  • This guy was a warped sicko. He actively wanted to harm children. Probably with Bon Scott right now, but it ain't no party.

  • @ClantonBrothers ..."he actively wanted to harm children"?????...oh,puh-lease!...the man made more sense than most people alive now.....He was honest about everything, and attempted to make people THINK for themselves....apparently,it didn't work all that well on you......FZ lives!!!!

  • @Chazticus09 "FZ lives"? Well, no point in arguing with you if you think he's alive.

  • @ClantonBrothers.from your many intellectual posts I've read on here, you've got some issues. You commented,I commented back and said what i thought I felt .if you can't take it,and feel the need to post some smart-ass comeback everytime someone says something...then you are right..no point in arguing. And I'm sure you knew I didn't think he was still alive. Are you just here to badger people? If you don't like Zappa, then what the hell are you doing on THIS page, other than bitching?Grow up yourself!

  • @Chazticus09 Hey, um, genius? I only responded to comments addressed to me, contrary to your assertion that I "post some smart-ass comeback everytime someone says something", so piss off. Concerning "what the hell [I am] doing on THIS page, other than bitching", what does it matter to you? Are you the frickin' YouTubePolice? I'll go to any page I want and write whatever I feel like. Get over yourself, you ain't that important.

  • @ClantonBrothers.... and my case is proven...later,dickweed....

  • @ClantonBrothers your way out to lunch I think. Frank had children of his own, what are you talking about.

  • @mcnowski As if they themselves weren't damaged by him? Get a clue.

  • @ClantonBrothers Oh I see, you know these children personally do you?? Or are you just speculating. You really need to grow up.

  • @ClantonBrothers

really ? ... you are the problem here and now ...

get your clan gear out and meet with your inbred buddies, you stupid fuck !

    die soon scum

  • @congoindiana You must be a stinkin' liberal to be playing the race card. Are you black? The whole "racism" thing is getting very boring. "die soon scum"? Wow. And you libturds call people on the right "hatemongers"? It's time to grow up and wear big-boy pants, kid.

  • He should have went on a rampage and taken over the music biz. Somebody needs to one day. I've worked in it, and it's sickening.

  • you can hear his labored breathing. should`ve quit cigs so he could`ve stayed on..

  • I love FZ

  • Frank looks MAD.

  • I want one of those stickers

  • Frank Zappa, you are my hero.

  • i love his music

  • Larry Kang is the UGLIEST human being who ever lived.

  • @britneystakes King's looks make me almost believe he's a reptilian.

  • @britneystakes how on earth is that a relevent statement?

  • @britneystakes haha Larry Kang!

  • oh shit. this was still when LKL had interesting guests! go frank!

  • One of my greatest heroes, personally, and a man for whom I sincerely mourned, even though I had never met him, never got to thank him in person for all the things he did.

  • As below Frank seems now to be a man before his time . I have at home recordings of him in a court of law being accused of premoting porn ?? As a now 42 yr old I too have been shocked to have an upgrade on my cell phone that almost points me to porn as a built in feature ??? As for moral decline ? I dont think we can blame Frank but the way of life its self . Hey if there is a buck init , right ? Think on people forget money and calm down . Be right , not just earning a buck ???

  • The hypotheticals were the jewish owned medias smokescreen for the business people who have made pornography ubiquitous. Music was never the problem. Suggestive lyrics have been with us from the beginning. It is the moral decline of culture that is being swept under the carpet that is at issue here.

  • Zappa we miss you dude! This world has not been the same since his departure, I wish more musicians were like him...

  • If only today's outspoken musicians actually made great music like this man... one can only wish right.

  • @TheSlackerebel -If only today's musicians were this outspoken, informed and intelligent....yes, we can only wish.

  • Frank Zappa is the man. It was pretty cool Larry King read his warning too.

  • "Business in the temple"...good description...

  • A fine orator, brilliant thinker, ultra-brilliant muscian and composer, and one of several people I admire from the 20th century. His advice is timeless - and to this day I have not eaten any yellow snow! Passion and genius -great combination! Damn prostate cancer!! Took Frank from us WAY too soon! Hey bros,...get checked,....find yourself a cute female doctor with real thin fingers,... lol!

  • zappa succeeded in getting the letters off, but the explicit sticker became a badge of honor in hip-hop, still is. he's right; he's so right; and now the religious maniacs are turning USA into nazi-ville

  • Frank was way ahead of his time way ahead RIP peace my frend CRY CRY wipe ok so i cry,

  • fucking GENIUS beyond words.

  • How can King make such an awesome warning sound so fucking boring...

  • My position on the pmrc argument is the same as it always was. I would totally stick it in tipper gores butt. Now, years later, if I could find anybody to buy the 80's pop records that the politicians thought were gonna eventually destroy american morals, I'd use the money to buy a pistol, blow my head off to cleanse my personal thoughts, and enjoy an afterlife where Georgie W's dictator for life. I wish Zappa was still alive.

  • Haha wow, King already looked old as shit 25 years ago...

  • @ComfortablyNumb849 haha seriously! King's got 7 years on Zappa, yet it looks like a much bigger difference.

  • Brilliant. Sadly missed.

  • holy shit larry king doesn't even look like the same person

  • the truly free think for themselves- and that takes the insight to see when you are allowing someone else to think for you. I am a fan of FZ, this is one of the reasons.

He stood up the best he could to political distractions and called it out the way it was. To all the haters on here--- the basic thrust of the pmrc bit was to call your attention to this issue so that a couple of sneaky non related tax laws could be put into effect, and it worked. Frank brought this up many times--

  • Zappa doesn't seem like an atheist so much as an agnostic. He probably was aware he didn't have all the answers, and probably kept an open mind up until his death when i was one. I also like the fact that he understood capitalism

  • @DimensionsofChange Ehhh listen to "dumb all over". Very much a Atheist

  • she was buns up kneeling i was wheeling and dealing go frank give them what they want hard

  • The fact that things seems to have gone so wrong since his and similar key individuals' passing(,i.e. Bill Hicks...) leads me to think that the influence of these wonderful people on matters concerning the way self interest and greed run through society nowadays is missed so much. Wish they were still around to lead the way...

  • Always was 20 yrs ahead of his time!

  • Amen Frank!

  • What happened to videos 15 thru 18. They were the best!!!!!!

  • Zappa was brilliant .

  • No it's not - your argument only works if you assume that violence is the only way to get laid, which it isn't.

The desire for sex also leads to compassion and art. If sexual desire did not lead to all the good stuff (AS WELL as the bad) then those kinds of behaviour would not be around now, because they wouldn't have proved useful for procreation, and so would have died out. Also we are living in the least violent time in recorded human history...

Your world view is too simplistic.

  • @breastsfortea You put it far more succinctly than I could, thank you.

  • it is the best way to get laid. have you ever been to a kick boxing or boxing match? So many girls.

  • @breastsfortea

We live in the most violent time in recorded human history as far as general behavior is concerned.

Many wars are also being fought, with weapons whose technology people even today are blown away by (literally so.) Bombs are dropped and people are being killed in masses on daily basis. We're living in a very tense time, where governments and world leaders call the shots like never before.

And people don't educate their kids; kids watch rape porn online and think that's the norm.

  • @breastsfortea

in the last 100 years you have had 2 world wars and since vietnam america has never stopped involvement in wars. middle east problems, a cold war that nearly ended the world where theres still nukes floating around now; seems like a decade interval between every african genocide; and a new kind of destruction- globalization (starvation, poverty, etc.) which effects a world connected by capital. im not arguing if they're legitimate or not im just saying that our world IS violent

  • @mrmeanero Guess I should have read on through the debate...my comment now appears stale and redundant.

  • But dude, you've got to realize it's because we're always right - we are America, after all. I mean, come on,...

  • @breastsfortea Least violent time in recorded human history? I'm callin shenanigans on this one.

  • @aaronwilliams4w

It is hard to evaluate these things, but a lot of historians do believe this is the most peaceful time ever. Keep in mind nobody is saying that our time isn't violent, just that other times were more so. There are many reasons this might be so. Governments are more stable than in the past. Technological advancements have allowed people to not have to fight over resources as much. Education is much more prevalent than before. Social movements have made progress.
