i dont think rotc is a joke. im in a marine rotc. idk about any others but mine teaches you discipline. some might goof around but we actually study marine corps history learn the rank and we do everything as fast as we can do it when told to. not by r instructor but by r officers and NCOs as well im as sstg in my rotc and i treat the new guys as i was treated my fist year. if they dont we pt them till they cant move literally. its all about discipline and making better citizens

@dtrem1976 1st 504th B. Co. 1st Platoon, FT. Bragg NC> 1981 - 1984. At FT. Benning basic training we had 3 drill SGT's that were former Airborne Rangers ( Vietnam ) and a few legs but, overall the training was tough enough back then.
i work on post, and I notice my old drill sergeant, he got stationed up here at Ft. Lewis, and I happen to run into him, and it was awkward at first since I hadn't seen him in forever.
Army drill instructors are a huge joke. I got fired up by one last week that shit don't work on me when you got chewed out by a devil dog instructor for 3 months. He said what you laughing at boy you think this is a joke! I just said no I just think you are.

Dude, he was kidding with you. And it's not about you, it's about serving the country. So forget the pride of who's got power over who. No branch is against the other and the USMC needs to teach you guys that because that stuff carries over into warfare as when one the MCs 1SG & CO advise the Army Officers that they didn't need they were going to do recon themselves. Several Marines died in the first week in the exact places we had on the map. Pride comes before the fall, we are all human.

no joke huh. ill tell u somthing worse i was going to teh mess hall one day and about 30 butter bars left the messes hall mostly at the same time so it took me probly 15 mins saluting all thoses offericers to go 25 feet. it was 2 feet stop salute stop, salute and so on. even 10 yrs after that driss srgt stil gets me.
Yea I just graduated from Combat ENgineer OSUT recently and this is so fuckin' true lol. That being said it was one of my favorite cadences to call when we marched. One of our DS's would say Private instead of Drill Sergeant, and we would all say DS still, good times :D

lol, i have to say it, why is it that some drill sgts have the strangest names, look at the first one to make my point, ds diggles, i mean come on, i am a vet so i know what im talking about, i wonder if its like a requirement so that when a pivate laughs, they all hear half rite, face, front lean and rest position, no offence to any drill sgts on here or who watch the vid, i just find it funny.

@dtrem1976 1st 504th B. Co. 1st Platoon, FT. Bragg NC> 1981 - 1984. At FT. Benning basic training we had 3 drill SGT's that were former Airborne Rangers ( Vietnam ) and a few legs but, overall the training was tough enough back then.

Army drill instructors are a huge joke. I got fired up by one last week that shit don't work on me when you got chewed out by a devil dog instructor for 3 months. He said what you laughing at boy you think this is a joke! I just said no I just think you are.

@HollywoodKendrick yeah i did my brothers a ranger and he took me to fort bennet to see my cousin graduate paratrooper training and i was dressed in my mc bdu. And the DI was sayin why you wearing that in an army fort what are doing here and some other shit like he knows me. He has no power over me!

Dude, he was kidding with you. And it's not about you, it's about serving the country. So forget the pride of who's got power over who. No branch is against the other and the USMC needs to teach you guys that because that stuff carries over into warfare as when one the MCs 1SG & CO advise the Army Officers that they didn't need they were going to do recon themselves. Several Marines died in the first week in the exact places we had on the map. Pride comes before the fall, we are all human.

no joke huh. ill tell u somthing worse i was going to teh mess hall one day and about 30 butter bars left the messes hall mostly at the same time so it took me probly 15 mins saluting all thoses offericers to go 25 feet. it was 2 feet stop salute stop, salute and so on. even 10 yrs after that driss srgt stil gets me.

Yea I just graduated from Combat ENgineer OSUT recently and this is so fuckin' true lol. That being said it was one of my favorite cadences to call when we marched. One of our DS's would say Private instead of Drill Sergeant, and we would all say DS still, good times :D
