Hands down--As United States Marines--INXS kept our morale up. Even after the Gulf War, at a New Years Party aboard MCAS Beufort, SC, my husband and I were given the dance floor to "The New Sensation" at theStaff NCO club to a standing ovation. All for you Michael. His death will never be real to me--it actually pisses me off with regard to what a fucking waste. I saw this and was floored. Incredible performance. Saw these guys in concert on their Kick tour. I've been to hundreds of concerts/live shows. Not a single vocalist compares to Hutch. He's up there with Elvis, Jagger, Morrison and Mercury. He wasn't a singer. He was a presence.

I was in my early 20's back in the early 80's when INXS first came out. They were a refreshing change from the classic rockers I grew up with. Finally a band that was my age and not 10 - 20 years older than me.

@jmms429 yeh man.it was summer xs.they were callin it at the time..to hear them live was a privilage then they came to scotland but only 1 date.they added another which i got a ticket for but by this time it was winter and the first date was called off as the tour trucks were caught in the sin england--.we were panicking but they managed to get here for the 2nd date + i had a fuqn ticket.yee haaa..was magic.had this gorgeous wee blonde chick on my shoulders for .it was worth.the pain..just brill
