@afca93 he can put the lamps as close as he wants assuming they are cool white lamps or something like that. They are cold enough that you can touch them with your fingers (i don't reccomend it cause the lamps are more likely to break) and even allow your plants leaves to touch them. The closer the better, cause the plants absorb the most concentrated light and do not stretch to reach the lights.

ck out induction grow lights for tents and closets. the UV and IR is 95% PAR usable light that the plants thrive under for alot less wattage then metal halide or HPS. get wrm white lights for flowering. if you plan on using cfl. I Would buy a cheap small hps on craigslist. id rather use less hps wattage than more floro wattage. also ur plants would love FOX FARM ocean forest potting soil which u can get at any hydro store. they will be more green and vigorous looking and the leaves wont grow retarded and curved and such. thats all due to minor nutrient and ph imbalance the plant isnt optimally metabloizing its food. if you PH balance its food/water, it will.

if really broke, Get a halogen bulb 150 watt and a fan cuz those suckers are hot, each 150 watt will get you a square foot of good light, 4 square feet = 4 halogen 150 watt bulbs. Each puts out a respectable 2400 lumes which is perfect,, 3 bucks a bulb. 3 dollars for perlite. 15 dollars for a fan, just steal it of your parents of loan off a friend.

mix some perlite in with your soil next time, and dont water your plants so much, you going to give them root rot, You also need a fan which will help with your plants, You need to get rid of the CFL and get a grow bulb , on minimum, 400 HPS light, the CFL's are good for sprouts and thats it. Wrong spectrum and not enough output.

don't get your seeds from BC bud, takes like a month before you get em! I ordered 20 white widows for $150.00 18 germinated, but only 11 sprouted. I found the genetics to be pretty bad because out of those 11, 8 were male! I actually only kept one because I got a 2 by 4 ebb and flow! I harvested about 2 ounces. That's a pathetic yeild for a white widow plant!

Yea this practice is very common its called topping the purpose is to make 2 main colas instead of one some strains such as the real chronic strain that grow mostly one center cola respond very poorly but most plants this will substantially raise your harvest

nice pull bro, very few peeves too, 1st u need reflectors on the lights. output is increased and concentrated onto the plants, u will notice a difference but not too much as plants are not streching and remain low. and that means u'r doing everything correctly. guess its a matter of choice/space but i'd always bet on the taller plant .keep lights on as much as u can afford during the veg. cyc. 18/6 is fine but no dark period is nessary now. u take the risk so might as well do it all the way. g/l

yeah that should be good for veg just keep it pretty close to the top of the plant, about 2 inches, and add another light when your other plant sprouts. when you flower though you'll definitely have to add more light. post some vids if you can. happy growing

Light for vegging should be 18 hours on and 6 hours off... It's always better to use better soil then dirt and fertilizer... I recommend Fox Farm Soil.. Its not expensive but well worth the money for your first time grow... Check out my grow...

i know it should be 18hrs on, but right now the grow box is in my bedroom and the fan and lights kind of annoy me when i try to sleep so thats why i've shortened the light cycle. as for the soil i haven't seen fox farm in any of the stores, i'm living in switzerland. but the guy at the head shop where i bought my seeds from recommended the HESI formula and i've seen nothing but good results from it. the nutrient burn i got before was actually from some other fertilizer that i mixed wrong.
