I just saw these guys live this past sunday and watching the guitar player shred was pretty cool, but yeah their drummer is just awful on his feet!!! He was good with his hands, but he was trying to half time like everything because he just could not play double bass to save his ass. People can thumbs down me all they want, but the truth is this guy is Mr. Cut and Paste king of studio magic.

BtM is a very cool death metal band. At the speeds these drummers play today, sound reinforcement is almost mandatory. No one can hit a drum hard when the speeds are so outrageous. I do agree BtM could tone down the synthetics in the mix, however.

He plays the entire thing through MIDI live except his cymbals. His double kick and snare are quantized on the fly according to the set tempos of the song. As long as he can keep the cymbals in time with the click in his ears, he basically can't fuck up.

The bassist is the most talented member of this band but unfortunately with death metal as it is, the bassists get NO recognition at all.
