Back then I would get one set for Christmas and 1 for my birhtday, its all we could really afford, but still feel like the most lucky child in the world, now if you gave that to your guild they would say "What else did you get me?" and make a disgusted lok.

I love this! I've been dying to find out what furniture went with that cottage. I have 2 of them, the tudor style cottage from the 80's and the one in the commercial. I'm too young to remember the one in the commercial. But I love it! I have one though. And I think I've got all the furniture for it, except for the stairs. When I was a kid, I had the tudor style cottage and the barn. I loved them so much! Now I'm 32 and I'm collecting all the vintage little people toys.
I had the house, my neighbor had the plane and airport, and my sister had a merry-go-round! I really want to get the house again (off of ebay)...found a cool ferris wheel at a garage sale. I love toys from my childhood (I am 41)!
I had also almost the same toys, there was a fire station and a parking lot and a bus, , I never had the town, the zoo and the farm...the house was a cool one, my house had that typical timber framework of german houses (the so called "Fachwerk")
I absolutely love these classic commercials! Thanks for bringing me down memory lane! Nothing compares today, and what a different time. I feel blessed to have been born during this time. Thanks for posting!
I used to have the Little People Barn since I was a baby. That brought back some memories.
