The only things I don't like about socialist states are their single-party states and their (mostly) non-democratic/totalitarian governments. I'd rather go on social democracy or democratic socialism :/

@tigermgr Certainly one of the most impressive national anthems in terms of the power it conveys, and yes, I do agree with you about the U.S. anthem. The melody is alright, but the lyrics are not very uplifting or related to anything major in American culture (I'm an American btw). In terms of beauty however, I'm not sure the Soviet/Russian anthem is the most beautiful. Have you heard Iceland's or the Åland Islands'?

Stalimnsm is not Communism. Communism, like Christianity or democracy, has never been attained. And WWII, or the Russians in occupied Europe was not its finest hour; more its darkest hour. Yet, socialism, not communism is what the world now needs.

capitalism has not failed. Unlike most communists who have only read the communist manifesto, i've studied BOTH capitalism and communism. You see, Communism doesn't work because it is an ironic system: How can you have no government and yet have total control? Capitalism never truly works either, because it cannot provide for every single person. However, look at the United States. Our country's poor people are rich compared to other poor standards.

@SovietCossack101 Exept that your anthem of today has copletely different lyrics. But the tune is totally the same. As far as i remember in reading the lyrics of the new Russian Federation athem, they seemed more patriotic than the lyrics in the Soviet Union National anthem.

I do like the Red Army. I had some cousins who served in the Red Army before the USSR broke up. But I am not much of a Stalin fan sorry.

I'm of Ukrainian decent, so I have reason to hate Stalin and the CCCP, not Russia mind you since Russia was born of Ukraine. Either way, I always loved the anthem, such a powerful song. The lyrics don't matter, it's the pride in which they sing.
