  • i have a technique to stay fit that is much like nordic walking, it's called walking.

  • I never understood why they called it Nordic walking when the inventioncame from Spain during the 12th centuri on the Saint Jacob Pilgrim voyage during winter!

  • @tinotrivino they call it nordic walking because it's where it originated. considering the geographical location, it isn't exactly a surprise...

  • @Darusdei No my friend, because northern spain has -15ºC celsius during winter... thats nonsense :)

the origin (just google it) came from spain, during the Saint jacobs way!

  • @tinotrivino yeah google it and you wont find anything even close to spain.

nationalistic nonsense won't get you far in this life.

  • @Darusdei nationalistic? lol

  • @Darusdei I made the Saint Jakob Way (Camino de Santiago) and we learned history a lot during the way :D Nordic Walk means Pasea Nordico, invented in the 12th-14th century from a Franziscan Monk :) from the Pyrine mountains .D anyway, you can think what you want, i dont want give you any trouble. Have a nce life to you too :D

  • @tinotrivino the difference is that i don't believe, i know.

but you religious folk tend to believe pretty much anything.

it's most likely because you don't know what nordic walk even is...

  • @Darusdei we religious folk? lol we are less religious than germany for example, gays can marry and adopt children lol!!!

  • @tinotrivino just because you've changed some of the religious "rules" doesn't make you any less religious...

  • @Darusdei Believe me, sad but true we are really less religious than even germany..

  • @tinotrivino Eurobarometer Poll 2005: "I believe there is a god"

    germany: 47%

    spain: 59%

  • @Darusdei lol you are so funny, you really have no clue about culture believing, thoughts, traditions and a religious state and secularism...

    lol

  • wow...something wrong here

  • This is a great primer to prepare everyone for nordic field jousting and nordic fencing. For nordic fencing you nordic walk through highly populated areas with a numbered bandanna. Whenever you see another numbered bandanna nordic walker you nordic fence, with the loser giving up half of the cookies or change in his/her pocket. (disclaimer: nordic fencing is not real and may be dangerous) Enjoy the nordic walking.

  • nordic walking made easy

  • Watch "nordic walking - die drei Friseure" and learn more about nordic walking.

  • can the poles be used as weapons in case you are attacked by thugs for looking so ridiculous?

  • @thousandlegger That's funny. When I walk through parks in Queens, NY with these the only thing anyone says to me is "Where did you get those?" and "Do you like them?". It must have been the angry thugs' day off.

  • @thousandlegger don't you have guns in the u.s. for that. this part of the world is considered to be safest in the world, so i don't think random "thugs" pose a credible risk

  • Im 21 I did eat lots of chips, cookies coke any of those stuff almost every day and any thing else you can imagine - for years! And in June I started Nordic walking in a local group - I went 4 or 5 times a week averagely and after 2 months im 8 kgs/15 pounds lighter, of course a radical change in nutrition was needed.

  • i hope you don't mind my music-video-answer. it's just about fun - and my technique and outfit are awfully bad, maybe i need your help ;-), thank you

  • Great brief Video intro to Nordic Walking. I am a physio and have walked a few times, and now training to become an instructor. It's fantastic to improve posture, strength, and is used successfully with people with balance and mobility issues. It's efficient to boot!

  • Doesn't it harm posture?

  • Andy75a . . . so says the know-it-all who has never tried it. Pick a nice steep grassy hill, try it once then come back and report.

  • Super! Greetings from Mexico!

    I love Nordic Walking!

  • I love Nordic Walking, I practice it in the Pyrenees (France-Spain-Andorra).

  • Forgot about skis.

  • Brilliant video - this is a great excercise for all ages - I'm 49 and love it!

  • I find longer polls at least up to height of ones shoulder and carry through like in cross country skiing more beneficial.

  • I just quit smoking (i was smoking for 30 years) and was searching for an easy activity to raise my fitness. I got as a gift a pair of nordic walking poles from my girlfriend. Searching the YouTube-Files i found this video. It's great, thanks for showing warming-up and stretching too! Greetz from switzerland :-)

  • Hi thank you for your comment. I have just come back from Austria, Cross country ski-ing and Nordic walking it was fantastic.
