  • whats the song

  • god damn that looks like so much fun

  • Amazing stuff, props to these guys.

  • Now that a Tsuiso run !!

    awsome cars !

  • RWD Rallye cars will always stay pornolicious!

  • Rally oldboys, the inventors of drifting (Y)

  • @haavard1989 yep :-)

  • how cute is that?

  • It really pisses me off that Subaru & Mitsubishi fanboys go on about the Impreza & Evo being the "ultimate rally weapon" and both of them apparently dominating the stages of world rallying but what they seem to forget is that Ford Dominated the World Rally scene for almost the best part of 30 years and have an amazing rallying heritige that only Subaru or Mitsubishi could only ever dream of!

    Dave

  • @80sfordman indeed!!

  • incredible to drive

  • who would buy a escort or capri cortina now if ford would remake them(which they could)?????me for certain.

  • me too - without a doubt!

  • @REECH321

I would for sure, as long as it was a proper remake - RWD, light and fun to drive...

    Pity it won't happen :(

  • this is control test, not drifting per say... but it shows the origins of drifting... now the new overly evolved bullshit it is today

  • rwd rox

  • se gyrizei se alles epoxes. katapliktiko!

  • that is the most awesome thing i've ever seen!! Love the old mk2's I've got one in the shed. Wish I could drive like those legends.

  • yeh it's drifting alrite, they're throwing it sideways a little before the corner, then holding the angle thru the corner. you dont need tarmac + handbrake to drift, many ways to initiate drift

  • at the time there was no. ABS. no active stabilty control. no limited slipp diffs. no traction control. no power steering. dose were the days that rea car whit real drivers whit real skills went out ant had a blast. my fav RS of all time thee MK2. i bet that at that time dose scorts could get a piss over all jap crap made at that time. and can even have a piss on modern day made in japan sushi... long live the legend that is going to be a myth

  • They did have LSD's.

  • they had quick racks on the stearing

(cut the turning rotation in half)

    they also had quickshift sticks

(wich cut the gear change distance in half)

but yip... nothing today will ever compair to unadultarated rear wheel drive power in an RS1800 :D

  • Finnish driver, of course.

  • Back when men were men and rallying was a 4 day and 3 night deal. Not like now, where the guys do a couple of stages then back for beer and blowjobs. This video isn't drifting, coz I don't see them grabbing the handbrake to go sideways, and remember these guys did this for hours at a time, not just 3 or 4 corners. 2 World Champions driving the most winning rally car ever. Fantastic.

  • wtf are talking about its rally and drifting both at the same time, one of the best drifter sam hubinette said he started to drift on snow, people have been snow drifting for years

  • truly spectacular

  • there, these cars are definately drifting, the back end is out & the front wheels are nearly at opposite lock on some of the tighter turns. izzmus doesn't know what he is talking about.

  • drifting is when your rear wheels are not in line with the front ones and the car is still in control

  • DORIFUTOOOO BAAATTEERUUUUU

  • what? "futo"? ;-)

  • the best period for rally even grb

  • so they didn't invent driffting in Japan.

    in sweeden

  • who cares, japanese people are the one's who made it into a sport, and took it seriously...

  • Yeah!!!! Without a doubt - as you can see, bro!!!

  • wrong again zodiac, the mkII had a cosworth BDA in it!

  • Whilst zodiak seems to know nothing about cars and couldv'e at least done a search on google before posting that shit, I do think that izzmus has a point... this isn't really drifting. I would call this "arse out rallying". Fantastic video... much better than that jap drifting

  • zodiak your wrong. the car your referring to is the mk1 escort twin cam. these two cars are full group 4 spec mk2 escort rs1800's fitted with the 2 litre cosworth BDG engine.

and if you want to be be picky about it the lotus twin cam engine was heavily based on the ford crossflow engine.

  • beautifull old skool fords!

seems an old video? just the music hehe..

ford won bathurst 1st 2nd and 3rd.. GO FORD!

  • Just Beautyful, Total Beauty, Love it

  • indeed!

  • Don't mind him.

He's just a Chevy man. Lacking the intelligence to tell which way to put the badge.

  • ....even Ferrari cant lay claim 2 that! Chump!

  • You mean the same Fords that have won in every single racing discipline in every single division all around the world, zodiac?

  • Zodiak, you didn't pay much attention to the 60's, did you?

Probably because you were born in this century..

Ford's business plan in the 60's: Win on sunday, sell on monday.

How did they sell so many Fairlanes and Mustangs if they were Fct On Race Day?

  • And don't forget the 90's Ford Escort RS Cosworth.

That's sutch an awesome car. The handling is great. You can fit it with twice the power it has standard and you still don't have to improve the suspension. And on work days you can bring your kids to school with it! (not me) The only thing that sucks about it is the price. (god I wish I had one)

  • Drivers are hella tight....But the cars, its still a ford is the problem

  • Defenetly can´t share your point of view....actually I feel very sorry for you ;-)

  • HEHE I actually feel sorry for you. You know ford isnt even a competitor. you know ford stands for Fct On Race Day. ;)

  • haha, wtf r u on about, do u have even the slightest clue how many rallys the mk1, mk2 and cosworth have won! and nowadays the ford focus rally cars have won several rallys. cum back n comment when u've dun ur homework

  • The ultimate in Escort handling action from two of the rally legends of old.Thats car control !

  • that is the most awesome thing i've ever seen!! Love the old mk2's I've got one in the shed. Wish I could drive like those legends.

  • What do you mean they are not drifting izzmus? i wonder would ya suck the back of them? better than you could do any way, what do you drive? a corsa by any chance? fuck off

  • :-)

  • Incredible skills!

  • Izzmus- They are real drivers, more than you could ever dream of doing.

  • Great escort! The best car (after Lancia Stratos)

  • The old good times!!!! No gloves, no helmets, no safety belts! I know this was not a competition, but today those this safety equipments are necessary in any demonstration, due to sponsors.

Hannu Mikkola and Bjorn Waldegaard! The state of the art of conducting. Thanks to share!!!!!!!!

  • You´re welcome =)

  • crx

  • rare video . . . really rare . . .

  • I know...but - there u have it :-)

  • Excellent footage. Check out "voodoo escorts" on youtube to see modern day escorts driven on modern day ralles.

  • They're not drifting.

  • ye dey are u retarded animal

  • what do u mean by "not drifting"? do u know what drifting is?

  • yes i do.

drifting is driving with the rear tires more or less constantly at a slip angle past the peak grip point on the slip angle curve. basically, if a tire makes peak grip at a 10% slip angle, drifting is driving at say 20-30%.

  • here's the difficulty. when you're driving on a deformable surface like dirt, or gravel, or snow, or even ice (the studs shred the ground), the slip angle changes because the ground has its own slip angle to add to the mix. so when you see these guys hanging their tails out, they are actually driving at maximum grip.

  • AWESOME, and to think the japs had the cheek to say that they discovered drifting!!!

  • what? now who said that?!?

  • awesome just awesome!

  • Wow, this is one of the greatest video clips I have ever seen.

  • hey everyone forget about the fast and furious (tokyo drift). this is the real shit, and 30 years ago.puka.

  • Word!

  • That fiesta's a rare car too... 1979, 1600 2 years before the XR2 came out.. I heard that they had a twin cam in them, does anyone know if this is true?

  • Oi mofo's The MK1 rules. Mk2's are cool but Mk1's are the daddy so stop ya bitchin.

  • lol, love the bit where the dudes filmin from the boot of the hatch back, u can see the shadow of the car, thats mad

  • Nice good to see a mk1 Fiesta in there too

  • Hey i had mk1 and mk2 escorts and mk2 was better car but not as nostalgic..so it's a matter of choice..

  • OH man that's got to be the sexiest thing i've ever seen!! My uncle used to rally these beauties back in the day, only one he has left is a Mexico RS but its gone to the dogs now.

  • mk2 escorts rock but it would b better if they were mk1's

  • why??

  • cause mk1's are a nicer car

  • on the road yes but not for rally slag

  • ohh u bitch lol yes on the road and if you insist i would say they were equaly matched on rally!!!

  • haha anyway there both sexy as fook and outdone by the capri haha

  • COOOOOOOOOL

  • Yes - very nice. I have to agree - that´s why I post it :-)
