For those who have found it amusing to denigrate here, such heroes you are. Mom and Dad must be very proud. Well done; your comment has contributing nothing other than to demonstrate your weakness. Grow up, learn something, improve.

  • @nielscarp ummm i dont know if im right i think they did not liberated the town they retreated from that area because theres too many germans in the area.

  • @1964bong No they liberated it but the Luftwaffe bombed the city a few days after, it was not recaptured by the Germans but they tried to attack Eindhoven with tanks and panzergrenadiers who came from Helmond and Nuenen (the litte town were Vincent van Gogh was born. They fought against the same German paratroopers who defended Carentan in Normandy including Freiherr von Der Heytde who had a reunion Winters in 1995.

Eindhoven decided to make Mr. Winters a honorary citizen of Eindhoven.

  • Shame such a hero and living legend finally passed away.

It's men like Major Dick Winters who made sense of the madness of WW2 and done all he could to bring as many of his men back home alive and well.

Even at times going beyond the call of duty to do so.

R.I.P and may many follow and look to your example!

  • R.I.P Major Winters you fought for freedom in the second world war and told us the epic story and journey of you and your boys from D-Day to VE-Day thank you :)

  • Stop with this bullshit and bad mouthing this heros. have some respect from soldiers who died for their countries, they gave everything and yet they were so young. i dont care where from, what race or what color, you must and must have always respect for soldiers.

  • Maj. Richard D. Winters was one of the best leaders in WW2. He was really an impressive person.

Well this topic isn't about Americans being monster. I have to say we need to learn from good people and try to avoid conflicts

Those who think that war is fun have never been to war. These men they know the true horrors of the war and they know the true meaning of peace. We've to learn from their experiences. It doesn't matters what religion you follow, first you need to be a human.

  • he is a great leader

  • The wo/man who doesn't have any respect for Major Winters, should have nylon burned to their testicles/labia minora and forced to rip it off once it's melted into their skin.

  • @snowflakeFactory It's comfortable for some people to say that everything is the Americans' fault. But that's very ignorant from their side. These soldiers fought a just war against Nazism and we should respect them.

  • STFU AND LISTEN.

    Take your politics somewhere else.

  • i cant believe it, just now i finded out, so sad R.I.P. Mayor

  • Winters loved to practice Buggery with little boys

  • to the white house

  • i would vote for this guy

  • if he run for president i would have vote for him

  • R.I.P my friend, your heroics will be in the hearts of many generations to come.

    Incredable man!!

  • What a rolemodel and idol that should be looked up to even after his passing. You inspired so many. I am proud to have known you served our country. Rest in Peace, and my god bless sir.

  • fantastic tribute to a wonderful man!

  • these heros from WWII are passing away at the rate of 3000 per day, they deserve every honor we can bestow them, all the political bull shit about what we have become matters little when we think of what they did in their youth. If you are ever tempted to belittle what these people accomplished ask your self "what will I be remembered for?"

  • @1diesel1 3,000 A DAY! I don't think it's that much but they are passing away very rapidly and soon it will be like the WW1 soldiers... there will be none left :(

  • @chazere2k8poo I heard it was 10,000 a day, most likely a huge guestimation though.

  • RIP Sir.

  • @vcfreek Hoorah Hoorah We showed those bad boys some real fighting God Bless the 101st Paracute Infantry Division!

  • Hero. RIP Sir.

  • @SeaFoodDestroyer Gee thanks sir!

  • @SeaFoodDestroyer Lololol?

  • must have been sad for him to see the america's army become a world dominating monster

  • @canadianmoosekiller Yes america is a world dominating monster.Libya is experiencing it now , and im from Serbia. We experienced what that monster can easy do.In fact american government is a mastermind , soldiers dont even know what they are fighting for, but they believe it is right, and other people are controlled by mainstream media.

But u have to show respect to those soldiers who fought in world war 2.

  • @boklgokl well said

  • @boklgokl You are only dominated if you let others think for you

  • @boklgokl I wish that more people would understand it! just like you do!

    Rip!

  • @boklgokl But american had to help Europe? without them the germans could of pushed into england, I agree that these days war is pointless and shallow, but please don't call the second world war a useless cause and that other conspiracy bullshit... show some respect.

  • @boklgokl Libya has been the EU's responsibility, mainly France's.

  • @boklgokl dont close your eyes for what the servians have done

  • @boklgokl whore,

  • @boklgokl amen

  • @boklgokl

How dare you. How dare you post this on a video of an American Patriot who has shed his blood defending freedom not only in the United States, but in the rest of Europe from fascism and tyranny. I don't care if you leave one pithy comment at the end to say, "Yeah, but what they did was OK." That is unacceptable. If you don't like the war in Iraq or Afghanistan than just say so, but don't you dare tarnish the character of the brave men and women that brought freedom during WWII.

  • @jakedill1104 What? Im just speaking the truth.Nothing more.I said that people have to show respect to soldiers that died in world war 2 , which means that we truly own them thanks .The song is great , So is the series , and so are those soldiers that fought in that war, and when i say "oldiers dont even know what they are fighting for" that does not refer to soldiers that fought in world war 2.

    U misunderstood me.

  • @boklgokl you sir are 100% right. couldnt have said it better myself.

  • @boklgokl The Allied forces of WW2 fought for freedom. The American forces today, fight for power.

  • @boklgokl - soldiers of WWII had a reason to be at war or all of Europe would have been under Nazi control. Our soldiers are the best fighting force in the world - their bravery is unmatched. Yes our government has put our fighting men and women in many situations they should not have been in - Especially GW Bush but our soldiers do their job because that is their job. Your comment makes them sound clueless - talk to them off the record and you will find a different story.

  • @boklgokl UMRO NAM GADAFI :(((

  • @boklgokl THATS WHAT I WANT TO HEAR FROM SOMEBODY IN A WW2 VIDEO! those soldiers was born to be wasted

  • @boklgokl

Don't know a lot about how governments work, do you? There's nothing more bumbling and inefficient in the world, and this is especially true of a republic like ours. We'll spend $1 million on designing a new toilet seat for the troops, and even then it probably won't fit on the toilet. The idea that the US government represents some "mastermind" of planning and organization, well, it's laughable. I assume you're young and haven't dealt with bureaucracy much yet.

  • @boklgokl

But you are right about one thing: Libya is "experiencing" the US's influence. How? By ridding themselves of a man that has arrested, tortured, and executed countless innocents, that kept his people in a state of terror for decades. The people of Libya put it all on the line for their freedom, and America gave them a hand up. That's the form of "world domination" the US has offered time and again, even if many of the countries that receive it never bother to say "thank you."

  • @mco119 Wrong.... America didnt give them a hand they all made it up , libyans lived long, rich and happy lives, while being one of the most richest countries in africa...Problem was that gaddafi was about to lead a new currency - golden dinar(not only in libya but in parts of africa).... The wealth of the country that they are trading with wouldnt be in money it would be in gold , which libya had a lot.But not only that ... they wouldnt use dollars and that is bad for america

  • @mco119 So .. the plan is easy ... lead a group of people in libya to become rebels , of course they will be paid for it , they will lead other civilian men into it , gaddafi's forces and those armed rebels will fight, and because gaddafi is more powerful they would die... Now thats when america says " hey we have to help those people(and take their money and oil-give tham so called hand)"But of course it was all planned-then they kill gaddafi , and one less threat for america.

  • @mco119 And theres a lot more that i have to say about -America gave them a hand up. That's the form of "world domination" the US has offered time and again, even if many of the countries that receive it never bother to say "thank you."-what do u think ? that japanese civilians rasied gave thanks to .... nevermind it aint place to argue about that

  • @boklgokl

You're beyond the help I can offer here, my friend. You have a view of reality that borders on delusional. I can't think of any response of mine that will make sense to you. Sorry.

  • @mco119 Actually i have normal view on everything.Maybe i make mistakes sometimes, but not in this case. You live in America and its normal to protect your country. But Americans dont see anything how it looks real beyond their borders.By the way do u know that 3 Grandchildren of Gaddafi were killed by Nato bomb?they were under 10.I believe they are saying "thank u america" right?

  • @mco119 THE BOMBING OF ANY COUNTRY IS AGAINST HUMAN RIGHTS IF IT INCLUDES CIVILIAN CASUALTIES!

DAMN IT when NATO bombed belgrade they called this action "Angel of Mercy"........

  • @boklgokl

Again, I can't help you. Your arguments are based on emotion, not on reality. You want to see the world (and specifically the US) a certain way, and you are seeing the facts through that lens. I can't discuss facts with someone that isn't interested in facts.

Also, NATO doesn't necessarily mean the US; most of the planes over Libya aren't American. The fact is that innocent people die in war. It's sad, but it will always be that way. That's war...it's not an American thing.

  • @boklgokl

Again, I wish you the best, sir, but you are very deluded. I won't keep discussing this stuff with someone that has little interest in what is actually happening. Keep on hating the US if you wish..it won't change much. The world has always had fanatics, and it always will.

  • @mco119 "I won't keep discussing this stuff with someone that has little interest in what is actually happening."

Wait really? i have little interests? And who are u to tell me?

What u do is hear the news from CNN or any american television and then dont even think about it but u are already believing .Have u ever thought that they lied to u? Have u eve thought that maybe they cant say what they want but that they can say only what government lets them to say.I dont hate US , i hate its gov.

  • @boklgokl

I don't watch CNN, Fox, or any other news network. I get my news from a variety of sites on the Internet. More importantly, I read as much great literature as I can, with history being a particular focus (no, not all American authors).

Your anti-American fanaticism is something that no logical person can deal with. You've built a worldview based on emotion, paranoia, conspiracy theories, and, mainly, hate. You don't see reality, and it's a waste of time to try to get you to.

  • @boklgokl

One more time, I'm not going to keep discussing this. I might as well be pounding my head against a wall. This has nothing to do with facts for you; it's all about what you "feel," and there's nothing I can do with that. Respectfully, I bet you'll see things differently when you get older. My guess is that you're a pretty young guy. The world looks different as you continue to go through it. I hope that will help you.

I wish you the best. If you want to hate America, that's fine.

  • @mco119 Well yes i am young.

And neither am i going to continue do discuss , but u will see the truth soon enough.

  • @boklgokl

And in the future..please consider the irony of a person from Serbia criticizing the US government (or any other government for that matter). I'd say you folks have enough worries of your own.

  • @mco119 Wait is that an insult?I wont even try to say anything cuz u wont listen.Just tell me one thing , does one country have the right to oppose its will on another by bombing them, and by bombing it considers killing innocent civilians.

  • @boklgokl

Tell you what, man, & then I'm done here. You let us worrying about "dominating the world." Why don't you Serbs stay focused on not ethnically cleaning your own people like you did 15 years ago.

I've seen it all now...the US being judged for a war it's barely involved in (Libya) by a guy from a country that carried out massive genocide against its own people less than two decades ago. I'm sure you don't see the hypocrisy. You, sir, are a very deluded person.

    Good luck, & goodbye.

  • @mco119 I... asked u to answer does one country have the right to oppose its will on another by bombing them, and by bombing it considers killing innocent civilians. Nothing else. You dont know anything about serbia , and all u know it came from media or how u say internet which receives information from media.

  • @boklgokl

You don't have the slightest clue what I know about Serbia. I'm not a little kid. It's quiet possible I was in Bosnia with US forces in the 90's, and equally possible that I've been involved in other ways since then. When you get older, you'll learn that making assumptions is a problem.

Let me answer your question. War is part of this world, unfortunately. There are times when diplomacy fails, and when one country is forced to military intervene in the affairs of another.

  • @boklgokl

It's sad that it sometimes comes to that, but, again, it is part of reality. When it reaches that point, when a war starts, people are going to get killed. Civilians included. It's unfortunate, but there has never been a war fought that didn't include civilian deaths. Sometimes it's accidental, sometimes it isn't. For the US, collateral damage is almost always avoided when it can be; anyone who has served in the US military knows how hard we work to avoid civie losses when possible.

  • @boklgokl

So, to get back to your question, yes, there are times when one country absolutely has the right to intervene in the affairs of another. There are a long list of possible reasons for this, and I don't have space to go through all of them (and you wouldn't understand it anyway). World War II provides the best example; would you honestly argue the US had no right to intervene in Hitler's affairs? Were we wrong to "impose" our "will" on him? No rational person would argue that.

  • @boklgokl

Finally, the genocide carried out in your own country just 15 years ago also provides an excellent example. Serb forces systematically executed 1000s of unarmed men, women, and children. Hundreds of thousands were forced to leave their homes. There was no sign it was going to stop. The international community, the US included, had every right to intervene; simply because it's going on inside their own borders doesn't give a country the right to exterminate their populace.

  • @mco119 So this means that US,had every right to bomb belgrade, right. And it had every right to kill somewhere around 2500 civilians.THis also means that Us had every right to drop bombs on Hiroshima and kill around 150 000 civilians.Im not saying that u should have attacked hitler , of course you should. But you dont have right to kill innocent civilians.

Neither did serbia ,neither did bosnia, neither did croatia have right to kill civilans , but they did , and now part of those men is in hague.

  • @boklgokl

I'll say only this: there's a difference between civilians dying during the course of a war, and flat out genocide. I'm not sure you understand that. Civilians have died in every war since the start of time. Sometimes it isn't a thing that can be avoided; if it is tactically necessary to bomb, say, a factory, and that factory is in a city, you run the risk of killing civilians. That's sad, but sometimes there's no other choice, not when you're trying to end a war.

  • @boklgokl

Genocide is something else. With genocide, you're looking at killing geared specifically towards exterminating people of a particular race, religion, national identity, etc. It's planned, and very deliberate. It's not accidental (not "collateral damage) as most civilian deaths in war are. Men, women, and children are sought out, then executed one way or another. This is the stuff you saw happening during the Holocaust, as well as in Serbia during the 1990's.

  • @mco119 But when were US generals sentenced for genocide huh? What about Vietnam? How much i see Other countries have every right to bomb US for killing men in Vietnam,Serbia,Iraq,Guatemala...

Oh and by the way , NATO bombed serbia after so called Racak "massacre" .They used it as a motive or cause to bomb Serbia.

Do u know what was later revealed about that same "massacre".Check it up out net.On wiki.

  • @boklgokl

Listen, bud. I'm going to stop debating you. I'm sure you're a nice kid, but ultimately you are that: a kid. It's not your fault, but I just don't think you're going to get what I explain. I'm not calling you dumb..I'm sure you're not. But you're young, and you're thinking with your heart, not your head. I can't try to logically explain these things to you.

  • @boklgokl

At no point has the US been involved in anything of the kind (though it's arguable that our wars against Native Americans in the 19th century were pretty close to it). We've never targeted, say, an ethnic minority and wished to wipe them out. This doesn't make us perfect, of course, but it does mean you should lay off the genocide talk. In the case of Serbia, if we'd wished to liquidate your civilian populace, frankly, we would have. The fact it didn't happen shows we didn't want it.

  • @boklgokl

Anyway, this is it for me. It is dumb that I'm debating with you. Again, respectfully, you just seem too young to understand this stuff. You need to learn that the world doesn't hinge on how you FEEL; life is much more complicated than that, & war is one of the most complex parts about it. You take these amazingly difficult issues (like dropping the atomic bomb on Japan), & you make them about emotion. They're not. As you get older, you'll see the world is rarely so black and white.

  • @mco119 Well ok , although i would like to say more ,i cant and i will not because u are so damn nice...

  • @boklgokl

So, in the future, if you ever wish to look for a reason why one country might intervene in the affairs of another...well, look out your window. NATO did the right thing involving itself in your own country's war, and saved many people from joining those who had already been liquidated by Serb troops. And, one more time, don't be dumb enough to make assumptions about what I do or don't know about that war.
